I Hate My Roommate Deleted Scene

(This is originally why Gon was having some thoughts that concerned the readers. Like "But will I still be here?" And "Nothing lasts forever, especially with me." But I ended up deciding to go a different route.)

"I don't think I'd be able to continue living without you."

Killua's words echo painfully in Gon's head. Damnit. It's not like I have a choice! He rakes his hands through his hair. I can't stay with you, Killua.

Gon groans. "This is why I never wanted to fall in love."

"What?" Killua asks, standing in the doorway of Gon's room. Gon's eyes widen when he realizes what Killua heard.

"Ah, nothing. Uhm. Don't worry about it." Gon grins. Killua doesn't buy it.

"Gon. What's going on?" Killua steps towards him. "Do you... really regret loving m-"

"No!" Gon shouts. "That's not it. Not at all. It's just... it's complicated, okay?" He manages a half hearted smile to brush it off, but it doesn't work this time.

"Gon." Killua's tone sounds like a deadly warning. "What's going on?"

Gon groans in frustration. "Damnit."

"Gon. Tell me."

Gon lays back on his bed, forearm covering his eyes. "Look. I never told anyone this because I figured it would never matter, okay? When I went to college I wasn't planning on forging any lasting bonds. Not in high school either."

Killua's eyes widen in fear as his mind starts jumping to conclusions. "Oh my god... Gon are you... are you sick?"

Gon removes his arm to lift an eyebrow at Killua. "Why on earth would you just assume I'm dying or some shit??"

Killua sighs in relief, taking that as an answer to his question. "Sorry, your tone was just so serious and it really sounded like you were trying to tell me that you're dying."

Gon scoffs. "Heh. Sometimes I wish I were. But that's besides the point. Look. My dad has this business overseas. It's pretty prosperous and he's insanely wealthy. Like, insanely wealthy. He'd make Jeff Bezos seem like a commoner." Gon sits up and lifts a knee, propping his elbow on it. "And he's made a lot of enemies. So, when I'm done with college, he's arranged for me to live with him. For my safety, and the safety of his business. I'm his heir, and I'm totally cool with that. So, that's why I never got close to anyone at all. Because I know that I'd have to leave them. Otherwise I'd just put them, myself, my dad, and his business in danger."

Killua blinks his eyes a few times. "Wait- what?"

"Rich dad overseas. I'm the only heir. For my safety I have to leave and live with him when I'm done with college here." Gon summarizes.

"He can't force you to-"

"He's not. I agreed to it. Back in middle school when I first met him, he explained it all to me. He gave me a few years to think about it. And eventually, I told him I'd live with him after college." Gon shrugs. "He even paid for my tuition and everything else school or life related. Hence the money he sends every month."

Killua sighs. "Okay then..."

Gon looks at Killua expectantly, waiting for him to continue. Killua thinks for a moment. He would do anything to stay with Gon. Moving to another country isn't that big of a deal.

"I could go with you." Killua suggests.

Gon raises an eyebrow. "Really? You'd leave everything you have here. Just for me? Why would you...."

"Because I love you, idiot." Killua scoffs. "Get that through your thick skull."

Gon grins. "Well. Guess I really can't escape you after all." He jokes.

Killua pouts. "As if you want to!"

Gon laughs. "Haha. Icaruko really can't let angst last very long can she?"

Killua raises an eyebrow. "Who's that?"

"Who's who?"

"Nevermind." Killua rolls his eyes.

Yeah so this isn't what's going on-
I might make it something similar but this felt out of place for this story. I'm trying to get back to the theme of the story, two roommates who don't really like eachother that end up falling in love.

I don't want to over-complicate it.

So I still have to explain the money Gon gets from his dad every month, but that's easy. Childcare, even though Gon's over 18. Ging is still helping cause he can.

As for Gon's thoughts on him and Killua not lasting much longer, you'll have to wait and see.
