Chapter 1 | The wind of change

Yibo stood at the window, quietly watching Mr. Xiao pack the last of his luggage into the trunk of the car parked in front of the house. But after noticing a small bag as well, his thoughts quickly swept him away.

He also knew what Mr. Xiao really was, and though Yibo hoped Mr. Xiao would trust him better, he was wrong. Mr. Xiao remained mysterious, and sometimes suspicious of Yibo. However, Zhan's situation was different, his behavior, his condition had changed in the last few days. Suffering from sudden outbursts of anger and frequent nightmares, the former Zhan's bright and lively smile disappeared. Yibo tried to help him, but whatever he did was useless. Zhan was getting more and more irritated, impatient, his gloomy and cold looks always shaking Yibo when he saw him. Unfortunately, he knew nothing but his true identity since then, and now he felt clueless.

Eventually, one day Mr. Xiao decided to talk to his son face to face, and then they went into their own room and began packing. shortly afterwards, yibo arrived at their apartment. Entering through the door, he looked at the piled pile of black bags in confusion. Heading to Zhan's room, Mr Xiao stopped him.

"Yibo, you're finally here. Please go to your room now and pack some clothes and important things you want to bring with you. At least for a week, the three of us are going on a trip. Zhan is almost done packing, you better hurry."

"But where are we going?"

"Um ... You'll see. Now, hurry up now, please. I'll take the bags to the car until then." he said, then stepped back to his room, grabbed the small bag lying on his desk, and headed for the entrance. Yibo hurriedly packed his clothes, though he still didn't know what was really going on. 'What is this hurry? Maybe we're in danger? ... Wait, in danger? Among demons? No ... maybe it's just a surprise.'  Yibo thought to himself as he dropped the bags at the entrance and walked back to his room for his phone. Meanwhile, from the gathering clouds, a small thunder was heard in the distance. Yibo stepped to the window, after the dark clouds, looking at Mr. Xiao, who had just carried the remaining bags to the car.

Yibo's thoughts swept him deeper and deeper until a voice jerked him back.

"Yibo, are you ready?" Zhan asked, standing in the doorway.

"Yeah,.. yes. we can go."

Zhan nodded with a slight smile and walked down the stairs with Yibo. They got in the car and set off on roads lit by evening street lights. Out of town, it started to rain, making the car trip much more tiring for them. 

Though Xiao Jiang guessed, he didn't really care about the fact as they got further and further away from the city, the lightnings became louder and louder, as if to indicate the level of danger they were heading to.

After a few hours, the lightning stopped, and the rain eased. Mr. Xiao he looked in the rearview mirror and smiled. In the back seat, the two boys sat next to each other, they were both asleep in silence. Zhan resting his head on Yibo's shoulder, while yibo held Zhan's hand. 'Hm. I already understand why the weather has eased,' he said at first, sighing heavily.

How much do you like that xiao zhan's father is mentioned as mr. xiao? 🤔 is it good or xiao jiang or jiang would be better? (sorry, I can't decide) 😐
