I bang and I pound, I love you, you idiot! But the sparks of the blade sharpening drown out my voice. I try to extend an arm and reach out to him, grab him by the collar and force him to listen, but alas my body stills, my arms hang lazy and my legs the weight of lead, a dead weight. His eyes bore mine, they fill with rage, a fire that cannot be doused. He presses the blade to my neck, "I guess love really is blind," the blood rushes from me as my head falls back.
I forgive you.
