A New Beginning

Chapter 1

Viktor stood on the bridge of the Durmstrang ship, staring out over the black lake. The night's events still fresh in his mind, entering the maze, fighting off a blast ended screwt, 'seriously why did this place's CoMC teacher even breed those horrid things?' Shuddering at that thought he continued on thinking about the night's activities. There was a blank spot in his memory from the maze. He woke up briefly to see Harry Potter standing over him and send up red sparks with his wand before running off and then things went dark again. When he came to, he was outside the maze, his friends helping him up from the bed in the mediwizard tent and filled him in on the happenings.

He was placed under the imperius curse and had tried to kill one of the other champions, when Harry had apparently stunned him and then sent for the officials to come and retrieve him from the maze. Then the horrors really started.

Flashback

Viktor and his friends had just exit the tent when there was the familiar sound of a Portkey snap. 'Wait... who and where did the portkey come from?'

That's when he heard Fleur scream. He and Nicolae rushed forwards to see what was going one. When he reached fleur and asked what happened she merely pointed towards something on the ground before Nicolae turned her away from the scene and held her to cry.

There on the ground were the two Hogwarts chapions. One dead and the other lying over his body crying. Viktor moved forward with some of the official's and pulled the small boy off the other. 'He's surprisingly light' Viktor thought to himself as he held the small 14 year old that clutched at his robes crying.

Then the Auror Moody stalked forward grabbing Harry from his arms and leading him away. From his encounters with the scarred man, Viktor became wary of him, he didn't trust him.

He sent Nicolae to get Madame Maxime and one of the Hogwarts professors while he followed the two. He would've sent for Karkaroff but he didn't trust the man as far as he could throw him and besides, it seems their cowardly headmaster had disappeared.

Arriving at the office door where he saw them enter he heard a crashing sound and spells flying inside.

The door was locked better than what a simple Alohamora would open but he still tried. Just then he jumped out of the way when he heard someone shout 'Krum move!' Turning around, he jumped out of the way just in time to see a bolt of red light leave the transfiguration mistress of Hogwarts' wand and blow the door of it's hinges.

Following her, madame Maxime, Nicolae and Fleur into the room he saw Harry and the Auror moody in a duel. Mcgonagall shot a spell at the older man freezing him in place and Maxime strode forward and tipped a Vile of blueish liquid down his throat.

The man began to convulse and his features melted away to show a young man with sand blonde hair who's tongue darted out of the corner of his mouth every so often.

"You're supposed to be dead!" Maxime paled seeing the man. He snarled and darted forward to attack Harry again when Viktor sent a stunner at him sending him slumped into a Chair.

"Vho is zis man?" Viktor asked turning to the two professors. Mcgonagall sighed and pursed her lips before answering. "He is Bartemus Crouch Jr. Convicted Death eater who supposedly died in Azkaban 10 years ago."

"Crouch? You mean like ze organizer of ze gamez?" Nicolae asked confused.

"Oui, zis is hiz son." Maxime said.

Mcgonagall spun on her heel and have the door shut before throwing up all manner of wards and secrecy charms. Turning around she scanned the occupants of the room until her eyes landed on Harry.

"Mr. Potter, what exactly happened tonight?" Her tone was gentle yet firm. Everyone turned to Harry while he placed his wand to his temple and squeezed his eyes shut. Pulling a silver strand from his temple, he held out his wand with the strand on the tip towards Mcgonagall who took her wand and touched it to the strand lifting it before she flicked it in the air and a misty screen formed infront of the occupants of the room playing the memory.

When the memory ended everyone looked slightly pale. Maxime cleared her throat and turned to Viktor. " Voud 'ou perhapz lead uz to 'our ship monsieur Krum?"  They Followed Viktor out the door and down to the ship while Mcgonagall sent a patronus to Dumbledore telling him where to find the imposter Moody and to start searching for the real Auror.

End Flashback

Viktor turned around when he felt a tap on his arm. He looked down and saw Harry there with his head down staring at his shoes.. "Uhm.. t-they wanna s-see u-us in the lounge." He stuttered out. Viktor nodded and followed him through the doors on the ship.
