At peace, at last

She lay on the stone floor

The colour drained of her body

The smile wiped from her face

The once happy girl who lit up the room she walked into

Was gone

But this was what she wanted right?


I felt the chill of her soul touch my body

Guiding me to, once again,

Reach for the  dagger

And draw it too my chest

Seeing the blood made me feel at ease

Like I was finally free of the curse I had been living for 17 years

I stared at her lifeless body and the pool of blood next to her

Finally laying beside her I heard her soft whisper tickle my ears

She reassured me

She was the only one I felt safe next too

That is why we promised we would do everything together

And that is why we both lay on the same, stone floor

Finally getting what we had always wanted
