Higgens: Hey Little Lenny.

Y/n: you are not Brayden..where is he?

You can imagine why I was confused at the fact that He showed up instead of my elusive best friend.

Higgens: He threatened to pop my tires if I didn't drive him, so I threw him in the backseat instead, you can go get him.

He jerked him thumb back towards his weird ass van, i roll my eyes as i start walking towards it.

I slide open the doors of the van to come face to face with him

Y/n: I was surprised to hear that he got you back here by himself

I sit in the back of the van with him and close the door so that it's just us.

Brayden: I walked back here and he was to scared to say anything so whatever he said was a lie.

Y/n: thought so, but hi.

I give him a quick peck on the lips before flopping over on his lap with my head facing the ceiling of the van.

Y/n: this van smells weird.

Brayden: it kinda does which is kinda gross

Y/n:....

Brayden looks down at my suddenly sad face

Brayden: hey? What's wrong?

Y/n: Your leaving tomorrow, you excited?

He takes a deep breath before turning his head back to the top of the van

Brayden: No, I'd rather stay here then go back to my mom

Y/n: why dont you then?

Brayden: I couldn't do that to my mother no matter how much I wanted to...

Y/n: But you'll come back right? Like next summer or something

Brayden: ofcourse I would. Unless my mom wouldn't let me see that "deadbeat higgens"

He puts the name in finger quotes to make it more dramatic

Y/n: well then c'mon we dont got all day Higgens.

Brayden: dont call me that

I laugh and stand up grabbing his hand to drag him with me.

Y/n: see ya later Higgens

Higgens: Goodbye, have fun on your date. REMEMBER WHAT I TAUGHT YOU BRAYDEN

Y/n: what did he teach you?

Brayden: we dont talk about that

Y/n: okay Z dOg

Brayden: We dont talk about that either

I chuckle and adjust my bag strap.

We may or may not have found a way into what's his faces cabin (first movie). But I remember my dad telling me theres a lot of strange things here. Like a bloody arrow, but he told me not to worry.

Y/n: I wonder how many rooms there are? Follow up question why is there a Higgens signature hat on that stair post?

Brayden: Apparently they used to come here all the time as kids.

Y/n: my family came here in my 8th grade year. But I didnt come because I had broken a few ribs so I had to stay with dad's mom.

Brayden: how did you do that?

Y/n: What survive a whole week with that hag or break my rib?

He scowls at me and I laugh

Y/n: Only joking, I was on a rope swing and hit a tree. It's not very exciting but it's a funny story
