In the book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Hagrid shows the class a lot of nifflers in the subject "care of magical creatures". Hagrid says that Nifflers often cause houses to collapse when they are kept as pets. So I'd rather not keep a Niffler at home. Unfortunately, they were completely omitted from the movies, but they were given their role in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".
