The Ace-(wildcard)

Part 12

"You haven't said much since we left Anitas, you wanna talk about it?" Facemaker asks

"I think you know what's wrong with me" I answer

"No, I don't. So you'll have to tell me" Facemaker replies

I roll my eyes and let out a small sigh.

"All day I've had to sit and listen to Missy flirt with Wild Card. It has been driving me crazy, You and Noodles are the only ones that know I like him and everyone else can see it but why can't he?" I ask frustrated

"You like him?" Facemaker asks confused

"Yes and I thought maybe he felt the same way. I mean you don't hold hands with someone, or cuddle with them if you have feelings for someone else" I answer as I break the lock to the control room and push the doors open in anger

I feel Facemaker grab my arm stopping me dead in my tracks. I turn around to look at him, but in his place is Wildcard standing there completely shocked.

"It was you the entire time, wasn't it?" I ask avoiding his eyes now

He doesn't say anything, he just pulls me to his chest and kisses me. I kiss him right back before we both pull away breathing slowly as we stare at each other.

"Why didn't you say any of this before?" he asks

"Because I didn't think you would feel the same way" I answer 

He kisses me again before we walk into the control room and power everything up. I watch as he starts pushing buttons and the cameras turn on showing the rest of the kids making their way to the giant pyramid.

"Should she be doing that?" I ask pointing to Missy who is leading a strange monster to the center pole before falling

"All part of the plan" He says as I see Facemaker run up behind Missy who was pulled to her feet by Noodles.

"I should go help them" I say as I watch them drop something that looked important

Wild Card gives me a kiss before I teleport to the others. I look at Noodles who seems shocked.

"Ace can you get Slow-Mo?" Missy asks

I teleport down to Slow-mo and bring him back up to the others. Ojo just stands there as Granada and the president come up behind her. Missy starts talking to Ojo and I feel hands slip around my waist pulling me closer to them. I look and see Wild Card smiling at me so I lean my head back and rest it against his chest.

"So all you really wanted was for us to work together and take over for our parents?" I ask causing everyone to look at me

I see Missy scowl and roll her eyes before turning back to Ojo

"Yes Ace. We needed you to be able to take responsibility if it ever came to that. And you all proved that to be possible" Ojo answers

We hear the pyramid thing open and see our parents step out

"So that's it? This was all just a test to prove we were different for our parents. Now what?" I ask still in Wild Cards arms.

"Now you work together to save the world from whatever trouble may come" Ojo says before pushing a button on her tablet allowing the missing pieces of the floor to rise into place.

Each of the other kids runs to their parents but Wild Card and I stay next to Ojo

"How long have you been planning this?" I ask her

"Two years. But when I saw Missy coming I knew it would be perfect timing. I also saw you and Missy getting into a fight over a certain someone" Ojo answers winking at Wild Card

"Thanks Ojo, for everything"

She smiles before walking away. I turn around still in Wild Cards arms and smile at him as he tucks a stray piece of hair behind my ear.

"So what happens now?" I ask him

"Now you let me call you my girlfriend and we go on dates" He says smiling

I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him quickly before looking over at our friends. We both watch as Blinding fast, Miracle guy, Tech-no and my Dad hand Crimson Legend fifty bucks each.

"They bet on us, didn't they?" WIld Card asks

"I have a feeling my dad started it but yes" I answer as we walk towards them.

We give each of our friends fist bumps and hugs as we walk towards our parents. I see my Parents talking and Let go of Wild Card. He sees whats going on and kisses my forehead.

"It'll be okay, just talk to them" He whispers in my ear before going to talk to his dad

I walk up to my parents slowly and they stop talking and look at me.

"That was some great team work back there" My dad says

"Yeah maybe you should try it sometime, Silver Strike" I tell him smiling

He laughs and looks at Aqua Bolt. She smiles softly and then squats down to my level, holding back the tears in her eyes.

"Mom, whats wrong?" I ask worried

"When you came to us we thought it was a sign. You grew up into this Beautiful, strong girl who never asked for anything. Ace, you are one of the best people I have ever gotten to watch grow up but now we have to be strong together, just the two of us" She says letting a few tears slip down her cheeks

"I know. But we can do it and I love you guys" I say hugging her tightly

"We love you too Ace" My dad says

I hear a set of footsteps behind us so I pull away and turn around to see Wild Card and his Dad. I jump into his arms and he laughs. I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him as he runs his fingers through my hair.

"We are still here guys" My dad says

"Right. mom, Dad this is Wild Card. My boyfriend" I say 

"Its nice to finally meet you Wild Card. You hurt her and I will end you" My mom says shaking his hand

"I mean it, don't hurt her" my dad says

"I think he gets it" I say smiling as he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me closer to him

It was in that moment I knew things were going to be different. I was Happy again and I had everyone I needed right by my side. Even though I was loosing my second father I knew he would still be there to love me and help me when I needed him and he doesn't hate my first boyfriend so things couldn't be better. Wild Card once said to me, If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man. You win some, lose some, its still the same to me. The pleasure is to play it makes no difference when you say I don't share your greed, the only card I need is The Ace of spades. 

And that's how I knew he needed me.
