Luke is now 9 years old and so is his friend. He does have other friends at school but Kaitlyn is his main friend. After school, they would help each other with homework. Sometimes, the teacher would catch Luke talking to "his friend" (himself) and the teacher would think he had problems, they even had a parent meeting about it. He's starts to learn more about her because well they can talk more. His parents gave him a talk about "how imaginary friends aren't real" which he didn't listen to. His parents thought he will grow out of it soon. Now since they both are older, they get to do more stuff like ride bikes or go to friends houses. He still enjoyed talking to her even if she looks a little faded, he thought it was just a faze.
