The year was 1979, and Van Halen had released their 2nd studio album, Van Halen II. To celebrate, you and your roommate and drummer of the band Alex had decided to host a release party at your guys' house. However, you didn't think the party would be this big.
You had always had social anxiety, so the sight of people in every corner of the house just made the situation worse. You thought it would be relatively smaller since you hated large crowds of people.
You ran upstairs and hid under the covers of your bed, avoiding all the social interactions happening downstairs.
Just then, Alex knocked on the door. "Y/N? Are you okay?"
You buried your face under the covers once more, scared to answer.
He opened the bedroom door and noticed you under the covers and chuckled. "Why are you up here when you should be down there?"
You finally came out from the covers and sighed. "Alex, I-I just have a social anxiety, I hate being around large crowds of people. I just get so scared when someone is, like, inches away from me."
He nodded and pulled you closer to him, your face on his chest, him rubbing your back soothingly. "It's okay, Y/N. I understand. Sometimes me and Ed get a little nervous before a show."
His comforting words seemed to calm you down a lot more than what you expected.
"I'll make sure no one is super close to you our anything like that, okay?" He looked down at you almost lovingly, making you almost melt into his stare.
You sighed and smiled. "Okay."
You went back downstairs with Alex to join the rest of the party, somehow gaining a little bit of confidence i yourself.
