quick note: I know the 2020 draft was postponed due to covid and was originally scheduled for June at the Bell Centre so that is where this while take place instead of the teams video conferencing and all of that in October.

Y/n POV:

It was draft day and you and your boyfriend were getting ready in your hotel room.

You were staying in Montreal for the draft then after you had to go back to your college, the University of Winnipeg and that would mean you wouldn't see Cole for a while with him traveling to wherever he was drafted to.

You met him in Whitby, Canada where he lives with his parents, you two had met at an outdoor ice rink.

You were there with your younger brother and parents on a little trip. You and your family lived in Manitoba, Canada.

You were skating when you bumped into Cole, you weren't the best skater but he definitely was.

He caught you and made sure you both didn't fall over and he was being gentle not to make you uncomfortable by the way he was holding you.

He was really cute and he had an adorable smile. He introduced himself and you fell for him, he was sweet and so nice.

You and Cole talked the whole time you were there, he introduced you to his family and you introduced him to yours. You and Cole had a long distance relationship but you always trusted him and he always trusted you.

The distance between Winnipeg and Whitby was about 23 hours. You two finished up getting ready in the hotel room and made your way to where is family's hotel room was.

You and his parents always got along great and they were such nice people. You all left the hotel and drove to the Bell Centre.

You could tell Cole was nervous so you tried to keep him relaxed as you started to rub his thigh gently.

Once you got the arena you all got seated as Cole talked to former teammates and friends. Once the draft began Cole looked over to you, "Hi baby" he cooed as he gave you a sweet peck.

It was the first round and Winnipeg was up. The next thing you know Cole's name was called, you all got up and hugged him and you all were smiling.

You and Cole wouldn't be in a long distance relationship anymore and he was so excited as well to be in Winnipeg with you.
