CHAPTER 21 | FEELING CLOSER, GOING FARTHER
“For just one look from you, for just one touch,
it seems I've yearned for lifetimes.
But now when you're finally coming my way,
loving you, it feels like a crime.”

DESTINY is a good thing to accept when it's going your way. When it isn't, don't call it destiny; call it injustice, treachery, or simply bad luck—and that's what Yoona was doing. She knew that she was paying for the bad decisions she had made, and believed that her mistakes were tangled with the bad luck lingering over her creating problems for her.

She heaved a sigh, as calmly as she could without moving an inch for the sake of the man sleeping on her shoulder.

Life had taken a bitter turn for her, who once was a joyful girl full of love had now been a girl incapable of loving the man of her choice. Regretting her decisions was all she had been doing.

Remorse was all she was feeling.

Whilst all these thoughts ran inside Yoona's head, Taehyung slept peacefully on her shoulder. Not that his life was less of a chaos, but for a moment, when he laid his head on her shoulder, when she embraced him, it was like the universe allowed his mind peace and sent him home, so he fell asleep in an instant.

Yoona gently ran her fingers through the side of his head, her hand wrapped around him. She rested her head against his, gazing into the distance, drowning in her own thoughts once more.

Just as Yoona was deep into the chatters of her mind, a voice cut through her train of thoughts, shaking her out of them, "Yoona,"

"Jaehee Unnie," Yoona mumbled, bowing her head as a form of respect to her best friend's elder sister "Wake him up, it's not safe for him to be sleeping here now. It's morning, more people are going to come." Jaehee uttered receiving a nod in response from Yoona, "And I need to talk to you. Come,"

Feeling bewildered, Yoona nodded absentmindedly as she turned to rouse Taehyung from his slumber. She hesitated for a moment, gazing at his peaceful expression while her thoughts raced through her mind like a gust of wind. Gently tapping his cheek, she murmured, "Tae, wake up." Her own voice sounded groggy from the nap she had just taken, but Taehyung stirred awake. She then informed him, "I'll be right back. Jae-mi's sister wants to speak with me."

"Jae-mi's sister?"

"Yeah, she's a doctor here." Taehyung nodded, acknowledging the answer ere looking ahead to see a girl who he assumed was the girl Yoona mentioned looking at him and Yoona intently.

Yoona strode purposefully towards Jaehee, her hands smoothing down the fabric of her dress. "I'll ask you straight away. Tell me, where is Jae-mi?!" Jaehee whispered, pulling Yoona close in an attempt to keep their conversation private. Her voice was filled with anger and frustration, as if Yoona's mere presence was unbearable to her, yet she was making an effort to maintain composure, she had to.
