Chapter 8 ~ Runaway

"Bonnie Bennett, just the girl we're looking for" Damon grins, answering the door.

"And Jeremy...the guy that wasn't invited" his smile fades.

"We were at the hospital with Matt" Jeremy said looking Damon up and down.

"Right...yeah" Damon winced, and gesturing them to come inside.

"So why am I here Damon? It's been almost 4 months. No calls. No texts. Nothing. Now suddenly you call, inviting me over because you need my help? You're lucky I even answered the phone!" Bonnie snarled with her jaw clenched.

"I know Bonnie. And I thankyou for answering my call. That was so gracious of you!" he smiled with a hint of sarcasm.

Bonnie huffs and goes to walk out.

"Wait no no no! I wouldn't have called you if I had another witch" he shouted quickly after her.

Bonnie turns back around and folds her arms.

"Come on Bonnie. I have someone who needs your help"

"Who?" Bonnie snapped, looking around.

"Me" Raven appeared from around the corner, drying her hair with a towel. Damon's t-shirt fit her like a short dress and she had a pair of his socks on too.

"Raven?" Bonnie looks startled and confused "Hi" she smiled.

"Who is she?" Jeremy mumbled under his breath, leaning in to Bonnie.

"Uh we met at the library" Raven answered.

"You could hear-" Jeremy questioned before getting cut off by Bonnie.

"You're a vampire" she said and Jeremy nodded. It made sense now why she just heard him.

"Yeah" Raven nodded walking towards her "I need a daylight ring" she says wiggling her fingers.

"Who turned you?" asked Bonnie.

"Well about that-" Damon pursed his lips together in awkwardness.

"Klaus did" Raven admitted "Then he made me feed on your friend Matt to complete the transition"

Bonnie's smile faded and her eyes started to tear up.

"Please understand that I am sorry and...I understand if you don't want to help me" Raven said, wiping her nose.

Everyone was silent for a moment until Bonnie sniffed and wiped her eyes "I'll make you a daylight ring" she said walking past her, avoiding eye contact.

Raven rubbed her face and Damon patted her on the back comfortingly.

"Thankyou Bonnie" Raven said quietly.

Bonnie nodded gently, still averting her eyes from Raven "Matt's funeral is on Sunday. If you wanted to attend"

Raven looked relieved as Jeremy and Bonnie made their exit.

"That was nice of them to invite you" Damon said pouring himself a glass of bourbon.

"Will you be going?" Raven asked him.

Damon frowned "Pfft no. Plus I didn't get an invite remember? You're the one who killed him and yet-"

"Yeah, real comforting" Raven interrupted him, glaring as she adjusted her ring.

"Where's Stefan anyway?" she asked looking around.

"Beats me. I don't think he slept here last night" shrugged Damon.

"Oh..." Raven said awkwardly, walking towards the door.
