Karl knew something was going to happen. He could feel it in the air. The last time he felt like this he jumped for the first time. Shaking it off he decided that even with the almost disturbing feel the world gave off he was still going to jump. He had planned this for months, and he knew that he had it right.

He walked with a spring in his step down the street past neat house after house. He was currently on Cyprus Street in the town he lived in. He could hear the homes slowly waking up with the rising sun. He had left his house early due to the things he needed to gather before he left and Phil never opened the door to his shop later than sunrise.

Turning the corner the adventure shop was at the end of the street with Phil standing in the open door. His blonde hair shone in the dawn light and his wings were large shadows behind him. He locked eyes with Karl and gave a wry smile, Karl was prompt with what time he showed up.

With a smile, Karl picked up the pace and jogged the last stretch before stopping in front of the man.

"Karl." Phil's smile was knowing and he moved out of the way to allow Karl into the store.

"Phil. Anything new?" Karl walked into the store and looked around. None of the kids were in the store yet, probably still asleep upstairs enjoying the rare break in school work.

"Not since yesterday. Where are you off to this time?" Phil knew Karl traveled to various places every few months or so but he didn't know the nature of his travels.

"A battle scene." Karl's eyes were bright "One of the most famous! You should know it! You're the one who told me about it."

Phil's eyes widened before shutting the door behind them tightly.

"Karl." His tone was stern "You know no one is allowed there. It's off-limits for all humanity." His large wings were puffed up in alarm. The land had been soaked in the blood of thousands and held intent even after (300) three hundred years.

Karl's smile dimmed slightly and he waved his hand dismissively as he looked through the journals stacked on shelves.

"You know me better than that. If I break the law I can't go traveling anymore. Trust me." The bright smile was already back on his face and he had picked out a journal he was going to use.

"Who is going to break the law?" The tired voice from the stairs had Karl and Phil turning around. Tubbo was standing at the bottom of the stairs messily dressed with a yawning Ranboo standing behind him.

"No one is breaking the law because we don't want the Admins on our tail right?" He gave a pointed look towards Karl while saying this. Karl grimaced at the look and Tubbo caught it quickly.

"Crimes! Karl, you need to take me with you!" The teenager was much more awake and bounced up and down on his heels. He was wringing his hands quickly and Ranboo was starting to frown slightly.

Karl would take the kid if he could but the observation and documentation of the battle were of utmost importance and the area was highly dangerous. Not to mention how no one knew the exact date of the battle, making it even more dangerous for a jumper like Karl.

"Sorry, Tubbo. I'm not committing a crime. If you need someone to commit a crime with I suggest Sap. He's not awake yet but he should be down." Karl smiled and turned back to Phil with the journal.

"That one? Yeah, it matches your hoodie. It's free this time. You better come back in one piece, I don't want to plan a funeral rather than a wedding." Phil took the purple and green journal and removed the enchantment preventing theft before handing it back. His smile was strained and looked at Karl worriedly.

He was right of course. The colorful swirl on the journal matched perfectly with his hoodie and Karl ignored the passing thought that someone made it especially for him.

"Thanks, Phil. Tell Sap I won't be long. I don't want to miss my own wedding." His smile softened at the mention of his fiancee and waved towards a glum Tubbo and a frowning Ranboo who started arranging the stock. Ranboo waved back hesitantly and stared at him with obvious worry.

"I'll see you guys later, tell Wil and Tommy I said hi!" Karl ran out of the store passing by a hooded figure as he left.

"Sorry!" He skirted around them and a soft apology followed him. Hooded figures were nothing new in their town. Adventures and criminals alike came through the town. Their town is a safe haven for everyone due to the lack of government and the little amount of power Admins held in the area.

Of course, this hooded figure was unlike the rest and stared after the time traveler before entering the store.
