Joan Jett started to rock back in 1975 with the Runaways, writing songs like Cherry Bomb, Dead End Justice, Wasted and I wanna be where the boys are.

In 1977, Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox had left the band leaving Joan as the leader of the band by 1979, the first all-female band had broken up after Joan and Lita Ford had different ideas on the band's future sound. In 1981, Joan resurfaced with a band called the Blackhearts, performing songs such as Crimson and Clover, I Love Rock n Roll, I hate myself for loving you and Bad Reputation. In 2015, Joan was inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame almost 33 years after the Runaways made their breakthrough. Joan proved to the world that a woman can and will survive in the man ruled music scene, she's my hero because she's strong, brave and fierce.
