IT STARTED WHEN SHE WAS SEVEN. In Este's defence, it wasn't all entirely her fault — she figures causing a small explosion in the heart of Cairo airport, almost destroying some ancient artifacts that had been gathering dust for five thousand years. But that was nothing compared to what could have happened, and nothing had been broken — all in all, Este thought she had been quite restrained. 

Iskandar had not been convinced. The magicians of the First Nome had called her uncontrollable, brimming with unreleased Chaos Magic that spelled doom for their precious order of Ancient Laws. So Este had been shafted off to the Two Hundred and Thirty-Fourth Nome to live with her disgraced parents and warned not to practice magic until she was older and had the emotional maturity not to blow things up. 

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, that had not gone to plan. Her parents died in a car accident while she she was vexing a babysitter, and when Este had found out — well, the explosion in Cairo had looked like child's play. It didn't matter; suddenly Tokyo no longer wanted her, and her only choice was to join one of her father's detested acquaintances, Vladimir Menshikov. She didn't even care that she couldn't practice magic, she was just glad to have a roof over her head and a bed to sleep in. She owed her adoptive father everything. 

So when he asked her to find her way into Brooklyn House, and act as his eyes and ears from inside the Kane family, Este agreed. After all, what could go wrong?

why am I publishing this, when I have so many fics and they stress me out? I have decided to stop freaking out about wattpad. who cares ? it's just fanfiction and I'm literally just writing for fun. so from now on I'm going to write whatever I want whenever I want, even if I end up publishing and publishing loads of books. I might as well take a shot at it.

                               this is connected to flowergirl in he way that they are the same universe ! however, you don't need to read flowergirl to understand it, at all. there is absolutely no connection between the two. (but maybe lila and este might meet at some point. crown of ptolemy)
