Father's Son

Fallen in smoke and blind to his perfect lines

I lit a candle for every time he said "I love you"

Sparks imploded when he told me his infidelity

Despair poured out of me like snake venom

Now I crumble to his name and the sound of his music

He didn't want to be his fathers son

but that's who he had already become
