i was at the beach with a few friends, we we're going to play beach volleyball. the sky blue as ever, the sun out in all its glory.
setting our towels down under the big umbrella. ai staying with our stuff as she didn't want to play she just wanted to read her book. she had her airpods in her ear as the rest of us ran over to a volleyball net.
on the beach there was two courts on each side of the beach.
i take the freshly pumped mikasa volleyball out from under my arm. putting my hair in a ponytail preferably a low one.
everyone was prepared with their sunscreen already. the sand between our toes. i breathe in the salty water air. i get ready to jump serve, the ball coming in contact with my hand sending it over the net.
yui received it cleanly passing it to aiko. she sets it over to mimi as she hits it over for me to receive. mimi's hits were always so hard to receive despite being a setter.

i pass it over to eiko who sets it back to me to hit. it was us two on three since ai didn't want to join. that wasn't a problem for us, we gave each other time.
eiko you think we'll win?

we laugh it off before i get ready for my serve again. yui receives it sending it to mimi. aiko hits it over but a wave of wind blows the volleyball out of bounds.
i turn around to see where it landed as i run over to get it.
i go to pick it up but someone else had done so already.

his blonde hair with brown undercut. his brown eyes, with that snarky smirk. my heart beating hard and loud.
