She's proud of me |Julie and Alex (friendship)

It was around 2:00-3:00pm and the rain was falling harshly. While Julie sat on her bed scrolling through her phone, and the boys were doing god knows what, Alex was contemplating on whether or not he should tell Julie about his sexuality.

The guys wanted something to eat so Reggie suggested pizza, like he always does.

Now that the boys are gone Alex is going through every outcome that comes to his mind.

Alex thinks to himself, Should I tell her? What if she doesn't wanna be friends anymore? What if she kicks me out of the band?

All the memories from his broken childhood came flooding back, his hands started to shake with anxiety and his eyes started to tear up.

Remembering the look of disappointment and fear on his parents face when he came out to them, as if they no longer knew who their son was, as all of the pain from that night came back, he was hesitant on telling Julie.

His mind tried to convince him that everything would be okay, but being the ball of anxiety he his, he didn't want to believe that.

It took all of his courage to even go up to Julie, trying to remember that not everyone has the mindset of his parents.

He takes a deep breath and goes up to her.

"Hey Julie?" Alex utters, with a certain shake to his voice.

"What's up?" Julie responded.

Alex becomes more nervous, even more outcomes are speeding through his mind like a race track.

"I have something to tell you but please don't freak out"

"You can tell me anything Alex, you know that"

Alex's mind still racing as he struggles to even get one word out

"I'm gay...I'm sorry please don't"

Alex becomes visibly fearful

"Alex- Alex calm down, everything's alright, I love you no matter what"

"I'm- I'm sorry I was just afraid to tell you I'm sorry"

"How come?" Julie questioned

"Well when I first came out at 16, my parents were so disappointed in me, I didn't want the same thing to happen again. The only person who accepted me before the guys was my sister. After that I ran away in fear that I would be in physical danger, that's- that's why we had a studio here, Bobby- or Trevor used to live here, and he said we could stay in the garage if we wanted, so we all took up the offer, I- I had no where else to stay. I didn't want to re-live that memory again, it was just to painful.." Alex says, with tear flowing down his cheeks

"I had no idea..Alex I could never ever be disappointed in you, or kick you out. You belong here, in my life. And here you'll always stay, never ever let anyone take away your sense of pride" Julie expressed with much empathy

"Really?"

"Of course Alex, Now get over here" she pulled him into a tight hug whispering into his ear "I'm proud of you"

Alex thought to himself

She's proud of me

He hasn't heard those words in so long that it almost feels abnormal

"I love you Jules, Thank you"
