Chapter 16: Bailed Out

Y/N walked into the police station and went straight to the desk.

"Can I help you, ma'am?" the police officer asked.

"I'm here to bail out my husband," Y/N answered.

"Name?" he wondered.

"James Barnes," she said.

He looked it up, but found something interesting.

"Well, Mrs. Barnes, looks like someone beat you to it," the police officer said.

"Who?" Y/N asked.

Meanwhile, Dr. Raynor came in to see Sam.

"Sam. I've heard a lot about you. I'm Dr. Raynor. I'm James's therapist," she introduced as Sam stood up and shook her hand.

"So nice to meet you. Thank you for getting him out," Sam thanked.

"That was not me," she said.

"Take a good guess who," Y/N chimed in, joining them.

"Christina," John called.

They looked over to see John shaking people's hands and taking pics with them.

"It's great to see you again," he told the therapist.

"You gotta be kidding me," Sam muttered.

"You know him?" Y/N asked.

"Yeah, we did some field ops back in the day," Dr. Raynor answered.

"I heard you were working with Bucky, so I'd thought I stepped in. Bucky's not gonna be following a strict schedule any longer," John replied as he approached them.

"We haven't finished our work. Who authorize this?" Dr. Raynor asked.

"Um..." John started then pointed at himself.

"Why am I not surprised?" Y/N rolled her eyes.

But a smile immediately appeared on her face when Bucky came out. She went up to him and he smiled when he saw her. They then hugged, him lifting her up

"You okay? You behaved yourself?" Bucky smirked.

"Oh shush. I always behave myself," Y/N remarked as he put her down and they faced each other.

"Christmas of 1940?" he mentioned.

Y/N sighed and said, "Okay. You got me."

(A/N I'll leave that for interpretation.)

They laughed before walking over to the others hand in hand.

"He's too valuable of an asset to have tied up. Just do whatever you gotta do with him, then send him off to me. Got some unfinished business, him and I. You too, Wilson and Mrs. Barnes. I'll be outside," John explained.

John then walked away.

"James, condition of your release, session now. You too, Y/N and Sam," Dr. Raynor said, heading for the back room.

"That's okay. I'll be out here with--" Sam started.

"That wasn't a request," Dr. Raynor interrupted.

"I'd listen to her if I were you," Y/N said as she and Bucky, still hand in hand, followed her.

Sam soon soon followed suit.
