Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
I
I sneezed loudly again, my head jerking violently. I had the flu, and it kept getting worse. I tried to read through the messages on my phone, squinting through the tears in my eyes, my eyes were always red and watery due to the flu. I hated feeling so weak and miserable. I had been missing soccer practise, school and just life in general.
The door to my room opened and Lizzy strolled in, her hands occupied with a breakfast-in-bed tray. She'd brought in soup and bread for me. I smiled at my girlfriend as brightly as I could. She would come home every day after school and fill me in on every detail and take care of me while mom went to work. Man, how I loved this girl. And I hadn't kissed for three fucking days because of this stupid flu.
"Hey babe," I said
"Hello, you feeling better?" she asked, concern leaking out of her voice.
"Better than yesterday," I said nodding. Not wanting to upset her.
She set the tray down on my bedside table and frowned, "Oh Damn!" she said
"What?"
"I forgot to put in a spoon"
"Wait I'll ask Scott to get one" Scott is my little brother.
"don't bother, he just went out. I can just use my hands" she said casually, seating herself next to me on the bed. I widened my eyes at her willingness to feed me with just her hands but composed myself quickly.
She took the tray in her hand and broke a piece of the bread and dipped it in the soup and held it at my mouth. All the while, I was admiring her. Her messed up hair pulled into a bun, with stray tendrils adorning her face. Her eyes gentle, her lips red due to her incessant biting. She was beautiful.
"Eat up!" she said when I didn't open my mouth.
I did, and she fed me.
"So nothing, much happened in school, though everyone misses you, the teachers are relieved you aren't there, so they have a break from your pranks. Oh my god, Carol and Sam broke up! I was so upset, I even tried to talk to them-" she continued, while I was content listening to her and watching as her face changed animatedly, frowning or smiling or her famous guilty look or when she shut one eye and stuck out her tongue, she was adorable. And she was completely mine. I sometimes wondered what had I done to have someone as amazing as her.
That day, while admiring this girl feed me with her bare hands and take care of me with a smile on her face, I decided, I was gonna wait for her at the altar, someday. For sure.
A/N so this is an idea I came up with while listening to this pretty song. This book is snippets of love stories, the cute parts mainly.
**Caution: This can get extremely cheesy sometimes so only the strong hopeless romantics that can handle, please read.
