Slacking

A/n: blursed thought if the day. Mello and Near originally being written to be L's kids,,, means L was almost a DILF in canon. You know what fuck it, I still see them as his kids so L's a dilf because I said so.

Today L's work drive had disappeared. After almost a year of working on Kira non stop, he got bored and tired of it. Of course he still had to catch him, but one day off can't be that bad can it? As long as the taskforce didn't find out and chew him out for it.

So he planned to sneak out for the day. Only problem, he couldn't drive.

You could though, and from just reading your body language he knew you were bored out of your mind too. So the chances of you chewing him out for not working are low.

So this morning you were going to head downstairs and when you felt someone grab your arm and pull you around the corner before you could get to the stairs.

"What the-" you said.

"(Y/n) you can drive right?"

"L? Yeah why?"

"Look I know Kira is important and all but I'm so bored, and I know you are too. So I was thinking, let's just sneak out and drive around Tokyo or something"

Tempting. Very tempting. Although you weren't expecting this from L of all people, who always went on about how important the case was.

"Yes, lets go" you agreed.

It didn't take long to sneak past the taskforce and into the car park where you took a car and headed off. You were actually rather exited for this, not only because you were finally getting out of taskforce, but it was with L. Just you and L. Someone you'd developed a crazy crush on. You couldn't pin point exactly what it was, but L just had this... thing about him. Whatever it was you found it crazy attractive.

"So where to?" You asked.

"No idea, maybe we can just get some food and drive aimlessly?" L suggested.

"Sounds good, just see the sights. What food? I'm guessing something sweet?"

"Ice cream would be nice"

"Know any place?"

"Take a left at this roundabout and it'll be at the end of the street"

So you took that left, got that ice cream, and continued. You decided to head for the hills, maybe pass a few shrines or something. See some cherry blossoms. L being L, got the sweetest damn thing on the menu.

A strawberry and chocolate sundae, with sprinkles and caramel syrup. You on the other hand stuck with some simple sorbet.

"Turn the radio on for me" you asked, hands full with an ice cream and the steering wheel.

L turned it on, hearing boring talk shows.

"Ew. Music please" he complained.

Switching between channels, you cycled through genre after genre until you found a station playing English songs. Jpop is good, but L's from Winchester and you're from outside Japan too, you both would recognise more English songs.

"Man I haven't heard this in ages! Had my high school end of year dances to this" you said.

"Wasn't this topping charts at the time?" L asked.

"It was, it got stuck in my head all the time around that year"

Taking a bite of his ice cream, L flinched for a moment.

"Brain freeze?" You snickered.

"Yep" he replied.

"Slow down dummy"
