FORTUNE honestly thought that the world had something against him. For starters, he was abandoned as soon as he was born, and someone had the fucking audacity to name him Fortune.
He'd been taken in by Click (who happened to be the asshole that named him Fortune), and raised into the life of crime — a modern day Fagin's gang. What was different, however, that not only did he learn how to steal and pickpocket on the streets, he could travel back in time and steal things. How cool was that?
And that's how it went for most of his childhood. Becoming family with a gang of abandoned children like him, hiding themselves throughout history. When he began to get older, oh boy did he have some fun; Festival of Drunkeness? Check. Bacchanalia? Check. One night stands with historical figures? Check, check and check.
However, questions were not welcome and nobody even raised an eyebrow when a child didn't return. It's not until Fortune lost one too many people he cared about before he took off, leaving Click centuries away.
His schmoozing and self-destructive ways eventually gains the attention of the Time Variance Authority and it's not long before he becomes a prisoner. He's given two choices: remain a prisoner, or become an agent. Under the watchful eye of Judge Renslayer and Mobius M Mobius, he reluctantly becomes an agent. Of course, the new job is ridiculously boring, and he hates it with a burning passion. However, he'd prefer that to rotting in a prison cell any day.
However, it's not until the arrival of a variant Loki that things begin to get a hell of a lot more interesting, and Fortune thinks that the odds might actually be in his favour for once.

Since the Loki series doesn't come out until June, act one is focused on Fortune's past abs how he came to work for the Time Valiance Authority, just in time for Loki's arrival.
