I Need You

Why do I feel like this?

Parvati's POV

The music was so loud in the common room, it was clear gryffindor had won the match as there was a spray of red and gold confetti was everywhere. Lavender and I had come to the party together but I couldn't find her, Lavender and I have been best friends since first year. We met on the train, we didn't like each other at first, and the irony was that we became roommates. Soon we had learned to like each other as we had all of the same classes, that's how all great friendships start isn't it? Her and I are super close, the only person closer to me is Padma, my twin sister obviously.

"Hey Hermione, have you seen Lavender?" I asked the bushy-haired girl
I noticed she looked sort of pale as the crowd erupted into cheers, I turn to see what was going on and my jaw almost hit the floor. Lavender was making out with Ron Weasley in front of everyone.

"Bloody hell." I muttered,

Why did I feel so angry? I should be happy for her she's had a crush on Ron forever she deservers some happiness. Hermione snapped me out of my thoughts as she brushed past me and ran off. I felt like doing the same... but why? I've never felt like this before, I didn't realize how long I was staring until Padma snapped me out of it "Are you alright?" she asked with a worried complexion on her face.

"Yeah, I just think i've had too much butterbeer." I said with a forced smile "I just need a breath of air, it's really noisy."

She seemed to buy it as I rushed out of there as fast as a could and snuck up to the astronomy tower, my favorite place to think. What is going on with you I thought to myself. Was I jealous? Oh God why did I feel like this?

Lavender is my best friend I can't be upset at her for finally getting the guy she wanted. She was too kind to be hurt, maybe I'm just being overprotective of her, a good friend . As much as I truly wanted to believe that I couldn't hide the fact that it it still made me jealous.

Am I in love with my best friend?

Lavender's POV
Gryffindor had won the game against Slytherin so there was a huge celebration. Ron was at the center of course because he was brilliant today. I admired him from the crowd his gorgeous red hair sitting perfectly atop his head. He was magnificent, in that moment I don't know what became of me but i mustered up the courage and I walked right up to him and kissed him.

It was the most amazing kiss of my life, which might be an exaggeration because it was my first kiss. He surprisingly did not back away instead he melted into the kiss. Seconds, minutes, hours, or days could've passed by I wouldn't know. As we resurfaced the entire crowd was cheering, but amongst it Parvati wasn't there, I felt a little sad that she didn't see that I literally kissed Ron freaking Weasley but I'll just fill her in on all the details.

"Let's go somewhere more private shall we?" Ron said as he took my hand and led me out of the common room and we made out along the way. I had no idea where we were but it was by a classroom, he pulled me in to enter the room but there was already people there. Harry and Hermione, yikes. She looked pissed and I didn't want to make anything worse so I slowly backed away "Uh I'll see you in the morning Ron." And with that I left to my dorm.

Boy will that be fun, considering I share a dorm with Hermione. I feel really bad because we are friends but she knew I liked Ron and never said anything about liking him too. I just hope she's not mad at me.

I arrived back to my dorm and Parvati was nowhere to be seen, Weird. She's never out this late, maybe she just got caught up with a boy. I decided I would wait for her. Twenty minutes later she came in "Where were you?" I asked as I ran up and hugged her "Blimey you're freezing!"

"Sorry I was out at the astronomy tower." She said

"What were you doing up there?" I asked

"The party was a little crowded, you know how I don't like small spaces." She said with a chuckle.

"Yeah." I said laughing too "You should've seen it Parv, I don't know where the courage came from but I just ran up there and kissed him!"

Her expression was unreadable for a few moments but then she exclaimed "I know it was awesome I'm so proud of you Lav!"

She gave me a hug but she looked sad but I wasn't sure why. We went to our beds, but before we when to sleep "Hey parv?"

"Yeah?"

"You're my ray of sunshine"
