Y/n POV

Chris left a few minutes ago, and I was walking towards my room. All the way there, I kept smiling like a dork. Chris and I kissed! It felt so surreal and amazing. The best part is that he asked me out on a date! I don't know what will drive my parents crazier. That I might date an actor or the fact that I'm breaking the arrangement. Too bad I stopped caring about their opinion a long time ago. And I was planning on stopping the arrangement before they announced it to the entire world. Which is something I'm going to talk about with Thomas.

Once I got to my room, I picked up my phone and sent him a quick text.

To: Clown

Hey, Tommy.

Wanna go shoot some arrows?

Since the day we learned how to shoot a bow and arrow, it has become our shared hobby. Whenever we wanted to relax or talk about something important, we went to the archery area in the castle.

From: Clown

I was wondering where you were. You kinda disappeared lately. I'll meet you in the garden.

You smiled at the text, and how fast he answered. He was probably bored or with his parents. I threw my phone in the bed, grimacing at how it bounced but thankfully didn't fall on the floor.

As I changed into my archery uniform, I debated if I should tell Thomas about Chris. After all, he told me about Amber and no one else knows about their romance. We've been best friends since forever and I know I can trust him.

I grabbed my bow, which I always left in my closet, and as I was heading out of my room, Rosie bumped into me.

"Princess, I've been looking for you." She whispered.

I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What's wrong, Rosie?"

She looked around the hallway and pushed me back into my room, closing the door quietly.

"Madam, I saw you. With the actor. Running down the halls to the general garden. Thankfully, no one else did but please be careful, Your Majesty."

My eyes widened in surprise. Thankfully, it was Rosie who noticed us, and not my parents.

"R-rosie please do not tell anyone. Alright?" I grabbed her hands in mine and spoke in a nervous tone. If Rosie told anyone about what she saw, whatever was starting with Chris would fall apart.

She nodded her head quickly and gave me a warm smile. "Of course I won't, Your Majesty. The last thing I want is for you to get in any sorts of trouble."

I let out a sigh of relief and hugged her. However, I remembered Thomas was waiting for me, so I pulled back.

"I have to go. See you later, Rosie." I said and quickly grabbed my bow.

Rosie chuckled as she watched me leave.

"There you are, Your Royal Lateness." Thomas exclaimed as I arrived. We were going to shoot some arrows in the garden. Some of our lovely maids arranged the archery set outdoors.

"Sorry. I was talking with Rosie." I apologized.

Thomas hummed in response and shot an arrow, hitting the bullseye. I cleared my throat, picked up a few arrows, and placed them in the holder that was strapped to my back.

"Thomas, I have to tell you something." I announced.

I shot an arrow, and it hit the bullseye. Thomas and I have always been pretty good at archery, considering we started practicing when we were six years old.

"Shoot." He smirked, and I chuckled at his pun.

"I, um. I think I'm in love with someone." I shot another arrow.

Thomas turned to look at me and accidentally shot his own arrow, which ended up hitting a tree. I laughed at the accident and he grinned at me.

"That's amazing, Y/n! Do I know him?" He asked excitedly.

"Well, I think so. It's Chris Evans." I bit my lip nervously.

His eyes widened, and he plastered a smirk on his face. "OoOo! Y/n is in love with a celebrity."

He laughed, and I just rolled my eyes at him. As if he were my brother, he started making fun of my crush on Chris. I don't think he was aware of the consequences that dating an actor would bring. Or that I'm breaking the arrangement just like he is with Amber.

"It's not funny." I playfully slapped his arm. "Can you just imagine the look on my dad's face when I tell him?" I snorted at the image of my dad in shock.

My mom has always been supportive when it comes to my romantic relationships. She never really cared if I dated royalty or not. Especially because she married a man who wasn't royalty. But dad always wanted me to date men that had a title. Which is ironic considering he's King thanks to my mother.

Thomas grimaced. "Yeah. He's not gonna like that."

He grabbed a few more arrows from the box and placed them in his holder. "But now everything makes sense. That's why I've barely seen you these past few days. You were on an adventure with your lover." He made kissy faces, and I just rolled my eyes, smiling.

"Seriously, though. We have to think of a way to stop the arrangement, Tommy. I already told Chris about it and I promised him I'd stop it." I was now sitting on the grass, my bow right next to me.

Yet again, he shot another arrow, which landed centimeters away from the bullseye. He hissed at how close he was, and then turned to look at me. He sat on the grass in front of me and frowned.

"I know. I haven't been able to tell Amber yet." He scratched the back of his neck.

I furrowed my brows. "I thought you told her at the ball."

Thomas shook his head and looked down. "I couldn't. I tried to tell her but the words just didn't come out."

I felt terrible. Thomas was clearly suffering because he'd lost the love of his life. And it worried me that Chris and I might not even go on a date. The only thing I could think of to stop this arrangement was talking to my mother. I knew she'd understand what Thomas and I were going through. I knew that she'd help us convince my father and Thomas' parents of cancelling this marriage. Or at least, I hoped she would.

"Tommy," He looked up at me, "We have to tell my mom. She'll help us come up with something else to unify our kingdoms. Something that is not our marriage. She's always told me to marry someone I love. And I love you but as a friend, not a husband."

He tilted his head to the side. "I agree. Plus, your mom was in the same situation when she was younger, right?"

"Yep." I nodded.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's tell the Queen about Amber and Chris. And like you said, she'll come up with a better idea to unite our kingdoms or whatever." Thomas stood up and offered me his hand.

I sighed and took it, standing up for myself. We interlaced our arms and walked towards my mom's tea room. Usually, during this time of day, she's drinking tea on her own. She loves having time for herself away from everyone else. I hope she doesn't get mad when we interrupt her alone time.

C'mon, mom. Don't fail me now.
