"okay, you've got to be kidding me."

they stares out at the pouring rain from behind the glass.

"it's a sudden downpour. mother nature does that sometimes."

"ah, she's moody... i feel that."

"we're just lucky we passed by this convenience store right as it got heavy."

"we are."

"well, there's no use rushing. maybe call your grandma and explain that you can't get home on time."

"huh?"

" the rain here lasts for hours."

"hours?! aw shoot, nana's gonna be so upset with me."

he looks around the aisles as she makes a phone call.

"daisy."

she hangs up.

"yeah?"

"you like sour candy?"

"i love them!"

he grabs a bag and purchases it.

"try these. they're called peach pits."

she tries one.

"oh, they're so sour!"

"is that a good thing?"

"mhm!"

he passes the candy to her.

"they don't make up for dinner, but i'm glad you like them."

"how did you know i would like sour candy?"

he shrugs.

"just had a feeling."
