Sirius Black was definitely not a stranger to Solara Kim.

Living at 11 Grimmauld Place almost all her life, there was no way she would've missed the grey-eyed, mischievous boy who lived next door. It was just impossible. He deeply intrigued Solara. The way he kept his opinions silent around his parents knowing they wouldn't be heard even if he screamed them out for the world to hear, but when she observed him from the wall that separated their gardens, he was completely different. Slightly awkward, a bit naive, but he was outgoing and playful. He reminded her of a small puppy having just learned to walk.

But she was the one who taught him to run.

Whenever Sirius' parents headed off to the Ministry for 'important business', Solara snuck into the Black's garden (and sometimes Sirius into hers). If his parents ever found out an immigrant half-blood was hanging out with their pure-blood son, there'd be havoc. So, they kept each other their own little secret.

She'd seen everything there was under the veil of Sirius Black. He was just a puzzle you had to sit patiently and figure out.

Though, as time went by and the pair headed off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Sirius Black soon forgot about his adventures with the girl — who'd managed to convince him spiders crawled into his mouth at night and laid their eggs in his stomach, or if he ate an apple seed, he'd turn into an apple tree by morning — and it left a unsettling and nostalgic feeling in the pit of his stomach. Almost like he was missing a part of himself.

So, when Solara tries to prove her confidence to her friends, and it ends up with her giving the cocky Marauder a fist bump, why does he suddenly crave her presence? Why does he start feeling like home, when he doesn't know what - or where - home is?

And how exactly, did this all start with a fist bump?
