Author's Note:

One of the main characters in this story is mute and communicates through American Sign Language. I myself am not mute or deaf and have only recently started to learn ASL. I try to portray this as accurately as I can through the character of Naomi. Any help or tips from those who know ASL by heart are graciously appreciated and encouraged.

As a side note, ASL is its own type of language and doesn't always follow the grammatical rules of English.

I don't know if anyone will read this story but I am enjoying writing it.
