Chapter 16

When Elijah woke up he looked at Emma and sighed knowing that he had to tell beth what he did today making him feel worried not wanting to ruin something he just got 

He got out of the bed and got dressed and walked into his daughter's room and smiled seeing Hope and Eliza cuddling in Eliza's bed

"Eliza" He whispered softly shaking her awake 

She gasps and looked at her dad "Elijah?" She questioned but still got up

Elijah wouldn't lie when she had called him by his name it did hurt him a lot but he knew she wasn't ready for it so he pushed it away 

"Come downstairs and let hope sleep I have to tell you something before everyone wakes up and get dressed into day clothes because we are going to go for a walk," Elijah said standing up and walking out of the room

Eliza was confused but got up and got dressed she checked on her mom and saw she was still sleeping and walked downstairs to see Elijah anxiously waiting for her 

"Elijah, you ready?" Eliza said making his head shoot up and he nodded standing up walking over to her and leading her out of the house into the woods on the trail

"So what did you need to talk to me about," Eliza said once they were far enough from the house 

Elijah sighed "I want to be honest with you about how I learned of you being my daughter because I want you to trust me," Elijah said making Eliza nervous 

"When I asked your mother she had said you weren't mine but I didn't want to believe it so I called my older sister Freya and she told me to be able to find out if you were mine I needed your blood and I knew you wouldn't give it to me willingly so that night you passed out it was because of me I have drugged you so I could take your blood," Elijah said 

Eliza stood there in shock her father drugged her but it was to find out if she was his after her mother lied to him

A tear fell from her eyes making Elijah worried that he ruined their relationship completely but she wiped it away and threw her arms around him in a reassuring hug making him melt into the hug 

"I am a little mad about you drugging me but I understand that it was to figure out if I was your daughter after my mother lied to you so I forgive you, dad," Eliza said but whispering the word dad into his ear making him have the biggest smile ever

He hugged her tighter if it was even possible making her gasp a little "Dad. Can't. Breathe" Eliza said making him quickly let her go

"I am sorry," Elijah said checking on her making her laugh

"I am fine I have fast healing just try not to hug me so hard you are an Original Vampire," Eliza said smiling making him smile back

They hugged once more and starting walking back to the house knowing everyone would be awake by now
