STARBOY! 𝗲𝘂𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮

002. pilot pt 2

LUCAS WASN'T SURE HOW HE ENDED UP IN THE POSITION HE WAS IN. all moments from the time he'd exited the car to when he decided to sit down were gone from his buzzing mind.  one of his favorite things about alcohol is how calm it made him feel. how all anxious thoughts or feelings disappeared once he'd consumed enough to loosen up.

he hated being stared at, no matter who by, he hated it. it made him feel vulnerable--or more vulnerable than he already was. eyes followed him from the moment he walked in and whispers didn't make it past his ears. there was one girl who stared harder than anyone else, now here she sat in her pale pink dress on his left knee with a cup in her hand.

it wasn't uncommon for situations like this to arise. whether it be girls, boys, or otherwise, at parties like this someone always ended up on his knee or under his arm. this time being no different.

"hey."

three letters he would've responded to had he not noticed her eyes looking somewhere else in front of them. with what he saw, in his drunken state he couldn't help but giggle. they were one of those couples. the toxic kind he was all too familiar with. too caught up in his giggles lucas didn't notice when they transitioned from sitting to swaying with his hands on her hips, not that he was complaining.

common sense would've told him to not get involved in whatever they had going on. but this was lucas and especially in his drunken state he was looking for fun and this game the three of them were playing seemed promising.

"get undressed, i wanna go swimming."

and with those words all to quickly he wasn't interested in playing anymore.

"sorry but me and pools are a no. here go swim with him." he insisted pointing her in the direction of some blonde guy before walking away in search of another drink.  that was what he liked least about alcohol, how quickly it wore off of him. having found an unopened bottle of beer lucas found himself a seat on the kitchen counter, watching as a another girl wondered in and helped herself to some shots.

"you mind pouring me one?" he asked taking another swig of his beer. the girl was pretty, not exactly who he'd pick for himself but that wasn't to say he'd reject her if she insinuated something.

he'd startled her. not very much but enough for him to notice. after looking at him for a moment she responded by pouring him a shot and handing it to him smiling lightly. he liked her.

"you're pretty what's your name?"

"jules. you're pretty too, you are?"

"that depends on who you ask, but legally i'm lucas."

the two of them continued with introductory talking, both smiling one drunk and the other buzzed, until the guy from before busted into the kitchen and knocked everything from the counter. then pouring himself a drink. lucas couldn't help but guess that this guy had lost the game, which funny enough brought a smirk to his face.

he watched as this bear of guy continued his tantrum, yelling for everyone to get out. which maybe if lucas hadn't seen and dealt with worse he would've been sent running along side the rest but instead he continued to sit sipping his beer and smirking like the bastard he knew he was.

once the bear's attention turned towards his and jules direction he tried to control his face. biting his lip in an attempt to not let his pearly whites show out of amusement.

"the fuck are you looking at?" a question that made lucas turn away as to say "nothing" but bear wasn't talking to lucas. "who are you?" turning back lucas watched as this guy targeted jules.

part of him wanted to step in and tell whoever this was to fuck off, but the other part--the part that lucas hardly ever used told him to keep quiet and mind his business, because lord knows he didn't need richard getting wind of him a. going to a party, b. drinking far more alcohol than what was legal, and c. getting in a fight his first real night in town. so instead he sat and watched as the show in front of him got exciting.
