AL-MUQEET
(The Sustaining One)
The Maintainer, The Guardian, The Feeder, The One who has the Power.
Allah is Al-Muqeet or the ultimate sustainer. He gives strength and nourishment to all of creation and maintains all that exists. He oversees, guards, and preserves all. To Allah we owe the satisfaction of all needs, but he himself is alone and independent of needs.
The root q-w-t which means: to feed, nourish to supply, sustain to keep, preserve, guard to witness, observe, watch over.
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient..." (Quran 2:155)
