Anyway, this is something I've been thinking about for a while after rewatching some Xy/Xyz and I thought I'd kinda share my thoughts and see what people think.
Anyway. My theory is that...
...Serena was totally supposed to be a fanservice character in Pokemon
And when I say fanservice, I mean..."Kiddie fanservice". Meaning that there's suggestive scenes of her but only safe enough for kids to look at. Such as parts where she's blushing at Ash or holding down her skirt when she's in the air.
Because, be honest, no kid is gonna focus on the fact that a character's skirt is going up when they're falling. Kids are gonna be more like, "OH MY GOD THEY'RE FALLING" rather than, "ooohhh what's her skirt doing" because the show's rating is TVY7 and TV-PG (Parental Guidance).
Meaning 7 year olds have watched this. They're too young to understand why a girl's holding down her skirt and honestly I'm kinda glad they don't.
Also there's a huge, HUGE hint people missed in the way she's dressed. Just take a look at her.
