They went back to the Wizard and he said "Can I believe my eyes? Why have you come back?"

"Please, sir, we've done what you told us: we've brought you the broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West. We melted her" Dorothy said as she puts the broomstick in front of him

"Ah, you liquidated her, eh? Very resourceful" the Wizard said

"Yes, sir. So we'd like you to keep your promise to us, if you please, sir" Dorothy said

"Not so fast, not so fast! I'll have to give the matter a little thought. Go away and come back tomorrow" the Wizard said

"Tomorrow? Oh, but I want to go home now!" Dorothy said

"You've had plenty of time already!" Scarecrow said

"Yeahhh..."Lion said

"Do not arouse the wrath of the Great and Powerful Oz! I said, come back tomorrow!" the Wizard said

Toto runs off to hide under a curtain

"If you were really great and powerful, you'd keep your promises!" Grace said

"Do you presume to criticize the Great Oz? You ungrateful creatures! Think yourselves lucky that I'm giving you audience tomorrow instead of 20 years from now!" the Wizard said

Toto pulls the curtain aside, revealing the real Wizard of Oz as a short, middle-aged man with blond hair

"Oh... The Great Oz has spoken! Oh!" the Wizard hides behind the curtain, even though Dorothy and her friends have seen the real Wizard "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! The great and - Oz has spoken!"

"Who are you?" Dorothy asked

"Well I'm.. I am the great and powerful... Wizard of Oz" the Wizard said as his voice lowers at the end of his sentence

"You are? I don't believe you" Dorothy said

"I'm afraid it's true; there's no other Wizard, except me" the Wizard timidly

"You humbug!" Scarecrow said

"Yeahhh!" Lion said

"Yes, that's exactly so. I'm a humbug" the Wizard ashamedly

"You're a very bad man!" Grace said

"Oh, no, my dear, I'm a very good man; I'm just a very bad wizard" the Wizard said

"What about the heart that you promised Tin Man? Or the courage you promised Lion?" Scarecrow said

"And Scarecrow's brain? Tin Man and Lion said

"Why, anybody can have a brain. That's a very mediocre commodity. Every pusillanimous creature that crawls on the Earth or slinks through slimy seas has a brain. Back where I come from, we have universities, seats of great learning, where men go to become great thinkers. And when they come out, they think deep thoughts and with no more brains than you have. But they have one thing you haven't got: a diploma, therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Universitartus Committiartum E Pluribus Unum, I hereby confer upon you the honorary degree of ThD" the Wizard said and he gave the diploma to Scarecrow

"ThD?" Scarecrow said

"That's... Doctor of Thinkology." the Wizard explained

"The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side" Scarecrow said "oh joy! Rapture! I got a brain! How can I ever thank you enough?"

"Well, you can't" the Wizard said, then he gave Lion a medal it said "Courage" and he gave Tin Man a heart clock

"Oh! It ticks" Tin Man said and he lets the others hear it "look it ticks"

"Read what my medal says: "Courage". Ain't it the truth? Ain't it the truth?" Lion said

"Oh they are wonderful" Dorothy said

"Hey! What about Dorothy and Grace?" Scarecrow said

"I don't think there's anything in that black for me or for her" Dorothy said

"Well you forced me into a cataclysmic decision" the Wizard said "the only way to get Dorothy back to Kansas is to take her there myself"

"Oh will you? Could you?" Dorothy surprised "but are you a clever Wizard to manange it?"

"Child, you cut me to the quick, I am an old Kansas myself, born and bred in the heart of the Western wilderness" the Wizard said "premier balloonist rx last to the miracle of Wonderland Carnival Company, until one day while performing spectacular feasts of stratospheric skill, never before attempted by civilized man and an unfortunate phenomena occurred, the balloon failed to return to the fair"

"It did?" Lion asked

"Weren't you frightened?" Grace asked

"Frightened? You're talking to a man who's laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom, and chuckled at catastrophe... I was petrified" the Wizard explained and he said that the balloon landed in Emerald City and he became the Wizard and he said that the balloon will take Dorothy back to Kansas
