The midnight moon shied through the curtains, shining on to a cluttered desk. The wall was filled with diagrams, photos, maps. Some had pins on them, some of them held up a long piece of red string. On one of the photos of a person had been circled in a red marker. The eerie hallways seemed endless. But
somehow, they all led to the same stairs. They head to the main floor, which housed an empty kitchen. Where the living room used to be was replaced by a desk with even more photos and maps, as well as a few files. Underneath the stairs was a door. It’s many locks unlocked. On the other side of the door was an unstable looking pair of stairs. The walls down the stairs were tight. There were spots where the wallpaper was missing as if pulled off in a rush. At the bottom was a cold cement floor, stain red. There were tables up against the walls, which had all types of tools, and weaponry. In the middle was a now empty chair. On the floor was a human like mound. In the corner was another chair, but this one seemed more comfortable. Sitting on it was a person. An axe sat next to them dripping from it was a thick red liquid. The figure had what appeared to be a smartphone in hand. They were dialing somebody. Putting up to their ear, it rang three times cutting off on the fourth. Riinngg Riinngg Riinngg Rinn- “Hello?”
answered the voice from the phone.
“Moon.”
“Renn?”
“I have a question for you”
“at 1 in the morning!?”
“Yes.” A sigh could be heard on the other side of the phone. “What is it”
“Can you keep a secret?”
“…” Silence is what answered.
“I g-guess”
“Good.”
“What is it?”
“I killed Him
“WHAT!”
