Hours. Hours passed, classes continued as per usual as if nothing had happened. I had gotten past half the day without a single interaction with Pacey, spending our free time during a break at the back of the school with Joey ranting to her;.
"Wait, wait, wait.. So, everyone knew?" I questioned my best friend in disbelief. Joey simply shrugged as another grape entered her mouth.
"I mean, yeah. I thought you knew?" She furrowed her eyebrows.
"No!" I shouted.
"Oh," She casually shoved another grape in her mouth. I scoff, before grabbing the bag of grapes and throwing them.
"Hey!" She wined with her mouth still full, "I was eating that!"
"And I'm having a crisis!" I whisper-yelled so no one else would hear.
"Oh, c'mon! You seriously didn't know? Seriously?" I violently shock my head with wide eyes as she sighed. "It's always been like this!"
"What are you talking about?!"
She let out a deep breath before fully turning to face me. "Well, do you remember when you two first met? We were all at elementary school and he came up to you and me and asked for one of your strawberries. When you said no, he took them off you and you went and snitched, but, I remember you telling me that you let him take it because you wanted to be his friend. Then ever since then you always buy strawberries for each other."
I sat there for a moment, a light smile on face due to the fact that I could remember every little detail. "Actually, they weren't strawberries, the were blackberries that I specifically brought because I saw him eating them the day before. The strawberries were way later because I wanted to be friends with him." I smiled as I told the story looking zoned out.
"See, even now you can't help but smile! Dawson and I always knew he was in love with you! Hell, even Jen thought you two were dating! It was only a matter of time 'till he let it slip up."

Thankfully, every other lesson I had did not include Pacey, therefore I had made it full day without having to deal with-
"Hey! Spence! Wait up!" Pacey's voice called my name through the hall as crowds of students rushed out the doors. I sighed, quickly turning around to see him rushing past many people. Beginning to speed walk away, I pushed past as many people as I could but it didn't work.
"Spencer!" His hand grabbed mine making me turn around.
"Pacey! Hi, I didn't hear you.." I lied unbelievably badly.
He scoffed - almost a laugh. "Please, I know you, and I can tell when your lying." I felt the redness rush to my cheeks as he rubbed the back of his head. We had now moved to the side so everyone could get past.
"Look, we need to talk." His tone got more serious.
Sighing, I said, "I know.."
"Look, I get that I might have of come across too strong, but I can't hide these feelings anymore. Not with you."
"Pacey-" I started to speak.
"No, Spence, let me finish." I nodded with my head down as he let out a sigh. "For years, I tried hiding the way I felt, denying it. No matter what Dawson had said, I just wouldn't admit it. But after what happened with Leo, I had to. It's you Spencer Adams, you're the one that I always come to when I argue with my dad. You're the one who is always there for me when I do some stupid shit. You're the one that I want to talk to after a shitty day. Or a good one for that matter. And I know that I'm the one you trust with family issues. I'm the one that you always find a way to spend time with. It's us. Spencer and Pacey. Like it's always been. Everyone knows that. I know that. And I think you do too."
All I was waiting for was for someone to pinch me and wake me up, whether this was a dream or nightmare I didn't know. Except when I did.
"Pace, I-.. I don't even know what to say." I let out a fake, nervous, light chuckle at the end with he copied.
"I- I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have said anything." He shock his head as his shoulder scraped mine as he walked past. I stood there for a second, frozen.
"Pacey! Wait!" He turned around. With a sigh, I practically ran over to him, embracing him with my arms around his neck. His hand immediately found my waist as our lips crashed. The passion only got deeper as imaginary fireworks went off behind us. Nothing else matters, because this moment, our moment, felt like we were the only people on earth. His hands rose to caress my cheeks and mine fond his soft hair.
Although neither of us wanted to, our lips finally parted letting us both breathe. We stared at each other, foreheads touching, allowing a happy silence. Both of us chuckled lightly, not caring about anyone else around.
"Spencer and Pacey." I stated with a huge grin on my face. "Like it's always been." He smiled wider than I've ever seen, before laying a kissing my forehead.
