❛HEY, LOOK AT ME.❜

You stuffed your clothes back into your suitcase harshly, frowning at the pile of stuff. It was the next day, you, your uncle, and Miki had to go to the house Endeavor told them to. You were going to be picked up soon, you had procrastinated re-packing everything, and since you overslept you were angry, tired, and panicking. Panicking mostly because if Jonathan found out you had procrastinated, God knows what he'd do.
He threatened you the last time you officially talked to Todoroki. Not with words, of course, but with his hands. Your uncle was one of the strongest people you knew; both mentally and physically. If he wasn't so damn hard-headed and greedy you'd have a better relationship.
Miki: How many times do I have to apologize?
Y/N: Until your throat starts bleeding.
You huffed, not looking at her.
Miki: But Y/NNNN~ I just wanted an autographhh~
She whined, using her quirk to help you put clothes into the suitcase.
Y/N: What if he came to talk to me, huh? What would I have done then?
Miki: Oh I dunno, maybe TELL HIM YOU DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED?
You glared at her.
Miki: Y/N- knowing the type of student he is, he probably doesn't want to get married either!
You rolled your eyes.
Y/N: Yeah? And how do you know this?
Miki opened her mouth to speak, feeling confident, but you cut her off.
Y/N: AND fanfictions don't count.
She closed her mouth, her brows furrowing.
Miki: I- but- well he just doesn't give off those vibes, okay?
She sputtered, frustrated, crossing her arms.
Miki: Just please, try? I don't like seeing you all angry and sad all the time. Plus, you said he was dry!
She looked at you hopingly.
Y/N: And??
Miki: You wouldn't wanna be dry with your future wife, now would you? So that has to mean he doesn't want this either!
Y/N: Yeah, well when your future wife is only meant for having powerful superhuman babies and not for love you tend to get uninterested. He'd probably have a whole 'nother girlfriend on the low.
You stuffed the last pair of jeans into the suitcase, zipping it up.
Y/N: I don't care though. I'll find a way out of this without that icy-hot bastard.
You walked out of the room, leaving Miki with a confused face.
Miki: Hey- so you have been reading the fanfics I send you!
Y/N: No I haven't!
You called back.
Miki: Then why'd you call Shoto the same thing that Dynamite does?!
She ran after you giddily, the two of you preparing for the most awkward car ride of the century.
By the time you got out of the hotel building, Jon was waiting outside, staring at his watch in anticipation. You saw a glimmer of gold and squinted at his wrist.
Y/N: Is that a new Rolex?
He grinned at you.
Jonathan: Yeah, Endeavor gave me some money upfront to thank me for having a good daughter with an amazing quirk!
You narrowed your eyes, pulling your suitcase behind you.
Jonathan: You did good lying about that yesterday, by the way.
You kept your eyes trained to the floor. It made your uncle furious, the way you were ignoring him.
Jonathan: Hey, look at me.
You pursed your lips in silence, causing him to grab you by the chin and tilt your head up towards him.
Jonathan: Look at me when I talk to you, Y/N.
Your breath hitched and your scowl faded into a look of fear. His narrowed brown eyes burned into yours, a look that was all too familiar nowadays.
Jonathan: You're going to keep up the good work, aren't you?
He taunted with a menacing glare. You nodded softly, still under his grasp.
Jonathan: Good.
He let go of you and straightened himself just as Miki came out of the building and onto the sidewalk.
Jonathan: Wouldn't want to have to hurt you... or your friend.
He said lowly, only loud enough for you to hear. His face immediately changed once he locked eyes with Miki, his warm bright smile returning. You shivered- maybe it was from the crisp air, or maybe it was because you literally just got threatened, either way, it rendered you silent.
Miki started talking aimlessly, scrolling through her phone and commenting out loud on your friend's pictures, pouting about how much fun they were having without you. You pretty much tuned her out, your mind was focused elsewhere. You could only hear the faint chipper of winter birds and the rustling of the leaves, the wind carrying fallen petals through the air.
Pretty soon a large limo loomed around the corner and into your sight, catching the attention of other citizens on the sidewalk. You groaned and tried to hide your face in your scarf, trying to hide from the inevitable. The car pulled up next to you as if it was normal. You looked at your reflection through the tinted windows, watching as they rolled down to reveal the number one hero.
Your 'father' ushered you and Miki into the backseat, where Todoroki was. You caught his eye for a split second and looked away, sitting down across from him. Jonathan peered at you from the front seat.
Jonathan: Don't get all shy now, bug.
You looked at him and your brows furrowed. He motioned his head toward Todoroki, a silent request for you to sit closer to the teen. You looked at him once more, his two-toned hair falling over his eyes slightly, his hands resting freely on his lap, the tips of his ears red from the cold.
Making a little 'tch' sound, you scooted closer to him, your thighs inches apart, then grabbed your friend's arm to bring her closer to you. You then leaned on her shoulder, mostly to avoid contact with the boy on the other side of you.
Once the car started to move, you drifted off to sleep with Miki as your pillow.
