Chapter 1

"come on ladies don't let the muffins burn!" "hold on mom me and the super girls are in an important meeting!" rachel hollered. rachel turned back to the group and finished up her sentence. "back to what i was saying, tomorrow after school you need to meet me at the park! don't disappoint me! now i have to go check up on the muffins." "can we come?" avery asked. "it doesn't even matter, if the muffins burn i'll get myself grounded!" rachel sped to the kitchen with avery and dani right behind her. as soon as rachel got to the kitchen she frowned. "mom! you made me think the muffins were gonna burn, they're not even close!" rachel said trying to catch her breath. "just keep an eye on it for now." mom said trying to wash the dog off. "can you hand me that towel?" rachel handed her a towel then her dad came down the steps. "well hello guys, after you guys eat i think it's time you guys leave. it's getting late." "what! it felt like time went by so quickly!" dani whined. "well that's just a bummer, i've got to go get my car repaired, robert told me my tire went flat."
"my sister is coming to get me soon anyways." avery added. "guys don't go too soon! your gonna miss out on the muffins!" rachel cried. "yeah, don't go yet!" Dad chucked and headed out the front door. "i didn't choose this, my mom did. but i can ask if i can stay for the muffins." "the muffins! my mom said to keep an eye on it!" Rachel said while dashing to the oven. "don't burn yourself!" mom said. rachel carefully took the muffins and placed it on the table. it smelled like the cookies aunt jane used to make. i should really go there again soon. "smells great!" dani said. dani reached for a muffin until rachel slapped her hand. "ouch!" "don't touch the muffins yet! your hands are probably filled with bacteria. your not gonna touch a muffin until your hands are shiny clean." "gosh, okay." dani said while walking to the bathroom. Mom gave rachel the knock it off look. Liam then started crying. "oh for gosh sake now liam is crying?" avery said. Mom walked liam out the living room to the bathroomtrying to hush him. "classic old liam. but anyways, go wash your hands! unless you wanna starve." "i'm back! let's dig in!" dani said as soon as there was a knock on the door. "well would you look at that, my sister came at the worst time." the front door opened when dad opened the door for polly. "polly...why couldn't you pick me up later? you see i'm trying to have muffins!" "well that's too bad." polly said while dragging avery by the arm to the front door. the door then slammed. "sheesh, that's one naughty sister."Dad said.
"why don't you get going dani, it's getting late." mom said. "ugh, fine." dani said while getting her shoes. "don't forget this!" Rachel said while giving her a muffin. "thanks, also remember to be at the park." dani nodded.
after the house was quiet rachel got ready for bed. liam finally had stopped crying, he cry's over the dumbest stuff. one time he had dropped rachel's dinner plate and cried even though it wasn't even his. the next morning rachel dashed out of bed and apparently mom had already started making breakfast. i wouldn't be surprised if it was because liam wanted breakfast early. i got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to start my hygiene. 20 minutes later i rushed downstairs to eat breakfast. "i was hoping you came out soon, your pancakes would get cold." mom said as she passed me the chocolate syrup. "how's dads car? i'm hoping he can still bring me to school, i hate the bus." "well, it can't be repaired immediately, turns out there's a hole in his tire so it will take a while for it to be fixed." i frowned. "so your telling me i have to use the bus?" i said. "well who's gonna take care of liam?" mom sighed. "dad can, it's not like he has to go anywhere even if he wanted too!" "i promised him my car so he could go to work again, you either have to use the bus or call aunt jane to bring you." said mom wiping down the counter. dad came through the front door. "i'm heading off, have a good day at school." then the door closed behind him. i turned back at mom. "let's just call aunt jane to bring me." i said pulling out my phone. i dialed the number then put it against my ear. "hey darling, i'm just doing laundry." "yeah hey aunt jane, i know this is random but can you bring me to school? mom can't bring me and dad left the house early to talk to robert. apparently mom has to take care of liam." i said. "how about this, your mom can bring you and i'll take care of liam." i jumped. "thank you aunt jane!" i said hanging up. "you heard what she said, let's hit the road!" mom laughed. "you must really hate the bus." we both hopped in the car and started off to school. i turned on ariana grande, she makes really cool music. "not you and your grande fetish." mom laughed. "stop, her music is good." i giggled. "what are you and the super girls planning to do?" "i'm planning something that only the super girls can know." i said rubbing my hands together. mom pulled down the window. "hmph." soon we arrived at school and i made my way to my fourth grade teacher ms lilly. on the way i mom waved me goodbye then headed back home. "hey rachel!" dani said. i waved. "you will not believe it, rumor has it that avery got in big trouble today for being mean to polly, she is staying home." dani said. "sometimes i feel bad for avery, she always leaves our super girl events early because of her sister, even though it does anger me. like why can't she just have a better family?" i said. "don't blame it on her, blame it on her sister. i feel like she never wants her to have fun." "i don't get why she can't have her dad pick her up, obviously her mom can't because she has work." i said. "well, you don't know what she's going through. maybe her parents are divorced, maybe she doesn't have a dad. just take that into consideration." "oh hush, she probably doesn't care if she leaves early. she probably just acts sad so we're still friends. i WILL get to the bottom of her." soon, a teacher snapped us back to our class. i could tell dani was upset with what i said, but i didn't care. avery is a FAKE FRIEND! soon we got to our class and begin learning. at lunch i sat right next to dani. "guess what, wanna know why i don't have lunch?" "why?" dani said "my mom texted me saying she's gonna bring me to the park a little later today since she has work. so i'm not gonna eat so she gets sad." "she probably spent lots of time on that meal, you should eat it." dani said. "you DONT understand what it's like to have a disappointing mom. she's always taking care of liam, never can bring me to school, and now decides to bring me to the park late since she cares about my dads car than me myself!" "i can understand, we can wait for you at the park." "doubt you will, but whatever." i said. after school, mom came to pick me up. "how was school?" "it was the worst, i just found out avery is a fake friend!" i said. "i doubt." "mom said. "well, atleast i think she is. sometimes i feel like she leaves events early because she doesn't like us." "don't worry, that's just polly. polly is just trying to keep avery at home. don't take it personal. i would do it too!" "your on polly's side?" "i'm not taking sides here, but it's no ones fault! now once i bring you home you can chill with liam and aunt jane." "sometimes i think of why we can't just have aunt jane as our baby sitter?" i said. "she's a very busy women, she even has to babysit your cousins!" "why would she need to take care of our cousins? daniel is 13, ariel is 11, and carly is 14!" "i meant your other cousins." mom said. "them? william is 10, hailey is 12, and fai is 12. why would they need a babysitter?" "well, william isn't quite old enough to be at home by himself, usually in our family if your 11 and up you can stay at home by yourself." "everything disappoints me at this point, i just want to hang out with the super girls!" i said unlocking the car. "have fun with aunt jane." mom waved. i sighed. i opened the garage and liam was watching tv with aunt jane. "welcome home sweetheart! i made your food on the table." 20 minutes later mom and dad came home. "took y'all long enough! now which one of you are gonna drop me off at the park?" "let me do it, dads a little stressed." mom said. "well i'm not surprised, he never wants to hang out with me." i said. mom grabbed my hand and pulled me into the car. "well look who else is in a bad mood!" "i don't wanna hear it, you never have a good attitude. EVER. i'm so tired of bringing you home from school and always listening to your complaints and what you want." mom scowled. tears started to fill my eyes. i had never gotten yelled at like this from my mom. the car was silent. it started to sprinkle and go foggy. the silence was so loud i could only stare at the windows. soon mom unlocked the door and i headed outside. soon i saw avery walking to the park, WITHOUT POLLY. she always brings her to the park. what happened to her? maybe she KILLED her. this will not be tolerated. i ran to the park where dani was on the swings waiting. "DANI, AVERY JUST MURDERED POLLY." i screamed. soon we both screamed and ran around the park. soon we both run from the park and try and follow moms car to get her attention. soon she stopped and asked us what's wrong. "PLEASE BRING US HOME WITH YOU, AVERY JUST KILLED POLLY!" dani screamed. "get in the car now, i can bring you guys to a police station." we both slipped and sliced into the car while avery was standing by the park confused. "so what makes you think she killed polly?" mom said. "I- I DONT KNOW. I JUST KNOW SHE KILLED HER. WE NEED HELP FAST!" i screamed. "calm down. now don't tell me this is one of your little pranks, this is more serious than you think." "this isn't a prank! we know she killed her. rachel told me!" "well i'll bring you guys home instead, i don't want to involve the police in something that could not be true." i could tell she couldn't believe me. "w-what? you can't just bring me home like this! you know my house is right next to avery's. i'm gonna have to stay at your house for a few days!" dani exclaimed. "i'm not promising that, we can't have y'all over all the time. there's a lot of stress getting brought into the family for multiple reasons." "dads tire has a hole in it so now aunt jane babysits us so mom can bring me to school and dad has to stay at roberts for almost all day, plus he even had to change his working hours so he can still work. now he doesn't get home till late." i said. "heather just texted me asking if i could have william, hailey, and fai stay at our house so we can babysit her." mom said. "are you sure? that's a lot of work onto aunt janes hands." dani remarked. "technically she's only taking care of william and liam. you guys can have fun with hailey and fai." "no, she also has to take care of us since were only 9." dani said. "you're right, but i'm here too." mom said. "whatever, just bring me anywhere but home." soon everyone was home including william, hailey, and fai. "hey guys!" dani said. "ugh, she's here again? i feel like she's here almost everyday." fai whispered to hailey. "i know, give us a break with these kids." "i made y'all some tacos if you want too! and for the little ones i made meatloaf." aunt jane said. "that's no fair! i want tacos!" william whined. "the girls just said avery killed polly, i have to keep them in now." "well that just sounds horrible! i need to hear about this!" fai and hailey
looked at each other with a confused look. "i-i don't want to talk about it, all i know is she's dead." i said. "well go finish up your food, you guys can stay for a bit." aunt jane said. "do you even care?" dani said. "well, before we take further action there is no need to worry about it." "don't worry aunt jane they're only 9, they don't know what they are talking about." fai said. "yeah." william remarked. "this is why i hate you guys! you never take us seriously!" "how about you and your little friends leave this house." hailey said while marching up to dani and rachel. "girls STOP." dad scowled. "rachel started it!" william said. "upstairs, NOW." dad yelled. "you 2 girls stay down here, obviously the big kids don't like you."aunt jane said. mom rolled her eyes and headed upstairs with dad and the big kids. aunt jane handed liam his pacifier. "i'm disappointed, me and your dad planned a fun day tomorrow, we would go rollerskating. and have a picnic, we never expected this." "sorry aunt jane." dani said worriedly. "now, polly is probably safe and sound. i find it sad you just left avery all because you thought she was dead. now it's 6 pm and dramas brewing." "i really thought she was dead though." "dani, that's enough." "but what if she is dead? you guys never take us seriously all because of our age. you only take action when it comes from your guys mouth!"  rachel cried. "it's not because of your age, it's because when we do take action it's never true! even like the time you said your teacher was racist all because she handed you a white colored pencil. and when we ask why you think that all you say is "i just know"." rachel crossed her hips. "i can't wait for when i turn 11 in may, then i won't have to be babysat anymore." william said. "well your lucky because your birthday is in 9 days." liam said. "i don't get why we have to either? even though we're nine doesn't mean we're not mature. we're the most hated in this family!" rachel stomped. "so you think polly's dead?" "yes aunt jane!" rachel and dani said. "then get in the car, we're going to their house. if you guys are right you guys won't need to be babysat anymore." "but-" before rachel could finish her sentenced she got dragged into the car. i couldn't even grab a jacket and it was 50 degrees. aunt jane started the car very quickly, this is the first time i've saw her this mad in a long time. even liam and william were getting scared. "aunty just calm dow-" "shush already william!"aunt jane snapped. we all sat back against our seat like someone was in our face. soon the car was going real fast. felt like you couldn't even lift your head. she made sharps turns and our bodies couldn't take the speed. "please slow down!" dani screamed. it felt like we were about to get our heads chopped off. we tried to pull the windows back up but we were just going to fast. aunt jane would definitely go to jail getting seen with this speed. she ran past cars and honked at them. liam started crying hysterically. 2 minutes later the car driver into avery's driveway and she immediately snapped us out the car. she grabbed me and dani by the arm and pounded on the door. "you said you wanted me to take this seriously huh? well then here you go." aunt jane said. it sounded like a crazy women. me and dani looks horrified. she begin yelling for them to open up. "you wanted me to take this seriously, so i will." aunt jane laughed like a crazy women about to end your life. dani went to pick up liam since he was terrified and crying like he had just been murdered. william stood there with his mouth shut, his eyes looking like it was burning from fear. soon polly answered the door and aunt jane barged in slamming her into the ground. "THE KIDS SAID YOU DIED AND YOU DIDNT. LET ME FIX THIS FOR YOU." aunt jane begin pulling out a knife and stabbing polly in the chest about 11 times. "I SAID IF SHE WAS DEAD YOU WOULDNT BE BABYSAT, SO I KILLED HER JUST FOR YOU." aunt jane yelled hysterically. everyone screamed of terror and avery started dialing 911 after seeing polly. soon aunt jane pulled the knife out of polly and chased the kids with it. kids were screaming inside the house, in cars, outside, everywhere. aunt jane chased one by one and soon pulled liam out of dani's grip and stabbed him multiple times. dani cried so loud and ran around the block begging for help. it was beginning to get dark when dani had escaped aunt jane. she was in an empty neighborhood not knowing where william or rachel was. "HELP." dani cried. tunnel by her echoed. she started breaking down in the middle of the block. she felt devastated she had even believed rachel, her sick lies disgusted me. after an hour later when it was completely dark a car approached dani and rolled down the window. "watcha doin down here all alone? barely anyone goes down here." i looked up. "i got lost." dani whimpered. "well it's not safe out here, hop in my van and i can give you a ride." "thank you." she said while slowly getting in. soon the guy wrapped a rope around her and pushed her into the back seat causing her to pass out. i woke up and a jail looking cell with minimum food and cameras all around the cell. i leaned against the cell bars begging for help. soon i heard footsteps coming down. "WHO ARE YOU? PLEASE LET ME GO HOME!" i screamed. soon slow and quiet footsteps began coming down the steps. "hell-hello?" dani whimpered. a familiar face came around the corner, and to dani's surprise it was the man that had offered her a ride. "oh how dumb, how stupid of you to get in a strangers van. lesson learned huh?" he said while massaging his hands. "i've learned my lesson, it's just that- i was desperate for a ride home since i recently have been going through a lot." the man crossed his arms and rested against a table. "well that's just too bad, don't expect coming out of here again." "but- why?" dani said. the man got up and unlocked her cell. "shh, now what's your name?" he said. the sound of the cell opening interrupted the silence. "it's dani-" the man interrupted. "well it's gina now." dani looked around her to find any sort of escape plan but all she saw was metal walls with cell bars blocking her view. "how did you make this?" dani stuttered of fear. the man slammed the cell door against the metal walls. "i don't appreciate you getting in my business now." he slowly took out a clock and placed it by her. silence filled the room as the cell door closed behind the man when he walked out. after a while dani's eyes felt heavy, it was 4 am. she fell down and drifted away. soon, lots of chitter chatter woke her from her sleep. it sounded like men talking. dani stood up and looked between the bars. "sir, we need to go down here. i don't want to say it again." the voices wer very subtle and quiet. soon hope faced against me and i began banging on the bars. "HELP! HELP IM KIDNAPPED!" i screamed. and to my surprise rachel and william came down the basement steps with the police. first thing that caught my eye was the guy in handcuffs. immediately, cops began swarming me attempting to unlock the door until the door bursted open. the cops pulled me out and rachel began crying and coming in for a hug. i tried to back away but i couldn't get myself to move. i was just frozen. rachel's arms were wrapped around me so tight it was unbearable. "i'm so sorry." she said as tears fell down her cheek. i stood there in silence. the police took me outside and placed me in their car along with rachel and william. i was quiet all the way until we got to my house. "look kid, don't get in trouble like this again." the cops said. "i-i won't." i muttered as i opened the cop car. i saw my mom on the front door in tears when she saw me. she ran over and gave me the tightest hug. "i-" i got interrupted. "shh, i know what happened. just promise me you won't be friends with them again. ever."
