Maybe Nakano had gotten distracted with her plans to save everyone.
Sure, a lot of stuff happened, but it's not nearly a bad as everyone else would suffer.
But as she looked at the mirror and placed her mask on, she already knew a large road of pain and suffering would happen and she was ready.
At least she thinks she is.
To others, she definitely isn't ready for such a challenge.

She joined ANBU under request of her sensei. It was something she was proud, glad, and relieved about all at the same time.
Not only could she protect Hiroshi's elder sister now, she could watch and protect the entire village from the shadows and could kill without becoming known.
Yeah, it was cowardly, but she guessed thats what she was.
Did she forget to mention a promise she made to Hiroshi?
It was a random thing, and she owed him a favor.

So after her first few missions she ended up supervising the girl on one of her missions. She'd found a way to convince the hokage since this was a deadly mission.
One of Konohas important shinobi were kidnapped by the hidden wave, and her team along with another were scheduled to rescue him.
She ended up dying along with three others while Nakano had to step out and save the man himself.
Only two weeks in the ANBU and she already felt like crying. Of course she didn't, though.
"Kano-Chan."
"Kakashi-Chan." They both looked at each other for a minute before Nakano looked away and placed her mask on.
