you need to know your characters even though your just now meeting them yourself...you need to know them! I cannot stress that enough.

Dont just throw their personality together, actually think about it.

you might have a main character, and yes he or she might be your favorite, but if other characters are in your book. give them a chance to explain who they are. or atleast let them get a chance to speak. because when you throw them in the book out of nowhere were not going to know who they are.

It just makes the book confusing.

since your creating them you choose how you want your characters to act , feel, etc...

you defend them all the time, especially your oc you grow to love him or her, because maybe you can relate to them or you just love who they are..

therefore.

know your character(s) .
