( tw: mentions of death. )
Of all the things that could have been asked. And of all the things that could have been given an answer. This one thing remains stagnant in her mind, unmoving and still... very still. It was almost as if this thought were a chameleon constantly trying to camouflage itself in the crevices of her brain. Trying to prevent itself from causing Lilith's demise.
With her curiosity peeking at this certain subject, she couldn't resist asking this one question. Now in that moment the question didn't have any significance or hold any real importance, but for a reason unknown the unfortunate girl's two lips parted to reveal a query that made her larynx vibrate and tighten to produce the desired words.
And out they came: "is the eclipse harmful?" Her chest rose and fell with every breath. With minuscule care and with little effort, she leaned back into her seat and stared patiently up at the disciplined teacher. And with that those four words sealed her fate.
Death was knocking and coming in whether she wanted to open the door or not.

"Death lies on her like an untimely frost upon the sweetest flower of all the field", this is what Romeo says when he finds Juliets 'dead' body. He describes her death like this as to make it seem less horrific because he thinks that she was too young to die. But apparently he didn't think that he himself was too young to die considering that minutes after his discovery he goes out to buy poison and later kills himself.
Though sad Lilith does think that this was a bit dramatic of Romeo and naive. Like for fucks sake he didn't even check her pulse or try figuring out what happened. Then following his death Juliet wakes up, sees his officially dead body, says "o happy dagger, this is thy sheath: there rust, and let me die" and stabs herself in the heart.
Without even a bit of remorse Lilith huffs, her plump lips forming into pout, she closes the library book coated in a thin layer of dust particles and says, "what a bunch of idiots."
The teenage girl sitting across from her, also hunched over an old library book, looked up and the words were forming and coming out from mouth before she could even think of filtering them. "What, was the ending not to your satisfaction?" a leisure smirk worked its way onto her full lips.
Nearly giving herself whiplash, her head flings up eyes locking with Willows. "You know damn well that every time I read this it pisses me off."
Willow brings her hands up to cup her face and nods in playful understanding. "Absolutely," the blonde gives Lilith a pointed look. "Because I totally understand why you're upset with a fictional book with a fictional ending with fictional characters."
The brunette shakes her head, brown locks swishing over her shoulder. Lilith's lips part to release a snarky comment but a pitched ringing sounds throughout the wide space of the library.
Willow chuckles dryly, "saved by the bell." she shrugs slinging her weighted backpack over her shoulder onto her back. "Let's go Lily."
Lilith's ears perk up at the nickname, "Lily, really?" a perfectly trimmed eyebrow lifts in question.
"Yeah, why not?" Willow waves Lilith over so they can leave.
The brunette cocks her head.
"Come on," she quietly exclaims. "It's cute."
