Cherie: Well.. Uh... It really depends on the temperament of the character.
If they were like a happy-go-lucky or easy-going character before corruption, all it takes is a slight spell from my staff here, yes after I utter the spell I do need to hit the character on the head with my staff, but it doesn't really hurt them since they are not in their right mind.
Whereas if they were someone aggressive, they still would be during corruption so I have to perform a ritual as it's the only safe way...
It's kinda hard to explain but I'll try...
So basically, without being seen by the character, such as if they were distracted or attempting to corrupt someone else, I make a magic circle under them, that stops them from trying to escape and allows the person they were attacking to run.
Then if someone was assisting me with the ritual like a loved one since they are able to reach the real character easier, they would stand around the magic circle and form this with their hands.

Then I would utter this spell...
"Mother and Father hear my plea...
Rid this one of Substance thee
Fill this one with cleansing light
And guide them through the sacred rights.
Fill this one with joy and love
Send your help up from above".
When I have finished, the ones assisting will say over and over... "Substance, we banish thee."
Then I swing my staff down and normally, that removes The Substance from it's host, I capture it in a special jar... and later in the day would rid of it.
*She sighs*
And that's it really, it's a bit scary and if you get it wrong, it could be fatal so it's only left to the professionals.
