I pulled down the reins fast making us continue a steady pace as we continued down the path .I continued to focus on where we are heading
"Do you know how to ride a horse?"Tubbo said bluntly
"Have some faith in me Tubbo"I chuckled a bit before asking something "you guys want to go fast or slow for a bit?"
"Fast!"the all said practically insink making me laugh with a muffled chuckle from phill
I pulled up the reins and pulled it down fast and yelled A incoherent noise ,making the horse speed up.at this was it should only take about two days or one day and night to get get them back home with there homes and families
They had talked for a while with phill and I had continued the pace that I had started when I began to speed up,Tommy occasionally told me directions
Before I even knew it we had made it so far and the sun had begun to set making it a good time for them to sleep and we could eat in the morning Tommy told me the finale directions and they had fell asleep ranboo in the middle and Tubbo leaned on him using him as a pillow and Tommy lay on him doing the same.Phill had left the 'call' a while ago when they fell asleep after that me and him talked for a bit before it shut oof
After another while the sun had completely set leaving nothing but the darkness with small amount of stars and illumination of the moon to allow me to see.I looked down at the boys to see if they were ok but ranboo was sitting up straight just staring
"Ranboo?"I whispered
he whispered something incoherent
He spoke in English but it sounded like another language but luckily I understood sort of understood him,he said 'yeah?' I think
"What are you doing up?"I asked
"Can't sleep"he said eyes open then sat there for a small amount of time
A few more minutes had past of silence from him before he closed his eyes and looked like he want to sleep before opening them again and sat there
"You ok ranboo"I ask slightly concerned
"What do you mean?"he asked in confusion
"There must be a reason you can't sleep"I reply
"Can I ask you something?"ranboo asked
"Sure"I replied
"Why are you doing this?"he asked
"Doing what"I say generally confused
"I mean helping us usually a person in an apocalypse wouldn't help anyone and yet here you are helping a bunch of strangers with enough trauma to make books out of it"he finished ranting looking up at me he had Grey eyes that sparkled in the moon and what looked like tears running down his face
I hesitated before speaking
"I'm going to be honest with you I don't know I just felt like it was the right thing to do and just because it is an apocalypse doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it"my eyes lock with his and I give him a smile
"Can you hum something please"he asked shyly I just nodded
I started to hum one of my favourite songs every now and then a sung a few of the words
another comfortable silence fell over us before I looked over to him and his body was limp signalling he had fallen asleep
After a while the sun had started to rise and I had found a small clearing in the woods to land. I slowed down and pulled the reins letting the horse
I got back up and limped slowly over to the forest and got some wood and walked back and started a fire with the lighter and grabbed my backpack and took out three more cans leaving two more left.I put them near the fire with a stick and say there with my legs pulled up to my chest with the horse resting a bit and my leg still hurt like a bitch
I adjusted the way my leg was as I try to make it heal faster,I didn't have a splint and nether had the materials at the moment to make one
My thoughts where interrupted my some movement from in font I immediately looked up to see them slowly waking up
I stayed silent and moved the cans away and opened them,then passed the three cans around and letting it cool down
At this point I was running on pure adrenaline from the few nights of lack of sleep and food
"Good morning"I hear a tired voice say making me look back up to see them just sitting there
"Morning" I reply sounding surprisingly normal for the lack of any basic human needs for a while
I pulled out three water bottles and handed it to them while they ate
"Did you sleep at all last night?"ranboo said concerned
"No but don't worry about me we are almost to your home now"I gave him a smile
"You look like shit"Tommy says bluntly making me laugh a small amount
"I got pretty far in the night do you recognise this place yet?"I asked making them look around
"Kinda we have to head that direction for a bit more"tommy pointed north as he spoke
After a while I had let them finish the food.I put out the fire and I stood up got on the horse and grabbed the reins again and i began to move it up and down .I continued to lead the horse north we all where in an uncomfortable silence for a while
"Ranboo?"I started
"Yeah?"he replied
"Do you ever sleep walk?"I ask making him go stiff and look at me with a slightly scared expression
"Why do you ask"he said embarrassingly clearly not wanting to be interrogated this early in the morning
