Mistakes

Where am I? What happened? Who are these people?

All kind of questions running through my mind as I helplessly sat in the wooden chair, breeze caressing my skin while I fought to untie the ropes tightly wrapped around my wrists. I felt drops of sweat rolling down my cheeks. My breathing became heavier as I heard footsteps approaching me. I froze, shook my head around a few times hoping the blindfold would slip off. My body flinched when I heard yelling followed by the gunshots. Panick begin to raise as footsteps got closer. I knew as soon as they entered the room.

"Useless fucker." - one of them said. "Should have gotten rid of him a long time ago. I never leave a debt unpaid. "

" What do we have here? "

I winced in pain as one of them pulled off the tape on my mouth.

" Take off her blindfold too." - he demanded.
As soon as the blindfold was off I couldn't help but close my eyes afraid of seeing their faces. Fear ran through me and I started shaking uncontrollably.

" Aww, don't be scared baby. We won't hurt you. At least not yet. We can't ruin that pretty face of yours now, can we?"

I opened my eyes slowly examining the environment around me. Three men stood in front of me holding guns in their hands. I was placed in the middle of the room with no windows. I felt trapped. A man I suppose by the look was the leader kneeled in front of me, placing his hand on my thigh.
"What do you want from me?" - I asked on the on the verge of tears.

"Well we figured out the only way to get to that son of a bitch Mattia was through you. You see, it wasn't hard to bring you here. Wandering around in the dark alley at night all by yourself made it even easier. I expected you to be smarter than that."

"What are you going to do with me?" - I demanded to know despite the fear of finding out the answer.

"You'll find out very soon." - he replied with a smirk plastered on his face.

I looked down in defeat, tears filling my eyes. I knew this could happen when I met him. But I still decided to take the risk. My mind instantly flew to Mattia. The only man who made me feel like I'm worth fighting for. The man who convinced me that there's always light at the end of the tunnel. I started remembering how his touch felt on my skin. His smell. God, I missed him. I remembered the promise he made. "I'll never let anyone hurt you." I trust him. I know he's going to save me.

I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as I heard the one in charge give the order to his men.

"Take her."

I started screaming as the two men untied the ropes and roughly grabbed me by my arms. They tried to make me stand up but I bit one of the men's hands.

"Bad move, sweetheart." - the third one said. He quickly jumped in front of me and a sharp pain ran through me. Everything went black.
