a couple of months had gone by and things were kinda getting a bit of normality back. bucky was in a bad mood today. y/n could tell. y/n knew he still felt guilty but never said anything. he went to go and get some cereal out of the cuboard when he bumped into y/n. he pulled a face at y/n and told them to watch where they were going. y/n and bucky argued daily but today was bad; usually, it was just a bit of like picking on each other.
as the day went on y/n stayed out of bucky's way. they decided to go out with sam and steve. they went to the cafe at the mall; it was small but it was so good.
when they got back they saw Wanda and Pietro sitting with Rhodey. Wanda had that look on her face.
y/n went to go to sit next to Pietro but he stood up and started pacing up and down the compound.
"Why didn't you tell us you were alive y/n?" Wanda asked
y/n didn't reply and Rhodey was just glaring at y/n in confusion. Pietro came to sit down next to y/n "we thought you were dead- we all did. why didn't you try and find us?"
y/n replied with "after the - accident I didn't want to see anybody. but then tony found me" y/n's eyes met with bucky's. he was stood in the corner leaning against the wall. with that look, he does all the time. the look of when he tries to look like he's not interested in anything.
after y/n Pietro and Wanda sorted everything out bucky and sam came back into the room and asked if they could train with y/n today. y/n agreed and went to get ready.
they got to the training grounds and bucky looked troubled. y/n shouted over to him "what's wrong, scared I'm gonna show you up?"
bucky replied with "in your dreams doll"
he always called y/n doll and they never knew why. y/n couldn't even work it out from reading his mind. it was a complete mystery. anyway, bucky and y/n had to fight first.
y/n and bucky stood opposite from each other and sam said to himself quietly "this is gonna be fun" at that moment y/n and bucky started to fight. Steve walked in and stood next to sam watching y/n pin bucky to the ground.
sam shouted, "don't get too excited buck!"
bucky grabbed y/n and flipped her over pinning her on the ground and causing y/n to tap out.
"you're getting weaker" bucky exclaimed to y/n
"you're getting cockier every day" y/n said back.
after they finished training bucky and y/n went back to their rooms to get ready for bed.
it was about 1 am and y/n got woken up by bucky in his room. they got up and knocked on bucky's door and he tapped the bed next to him inviting y/n to sit next to him.
