While investigating a local nurse's death, a snobby shopkeeper called Thomas john uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, rusted ritual knife circulating throughout town. As soon as anyone uses the knife, he or she has exactly 32 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day-to-day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels like a frosty soda to the touch.

Thomas gets hold of the knife, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a ripped apart puppy balancing on a stake, an old newspaper headline about a drunk driving accident, a hooded man ranting about feet and drinking well located in an abandoned place.

When Thomas notices his legs have frost-bite-like properties, he realizes that the curse of the rusted ritual knife is true and calls on his friend, a hairdresser called Sophia Jolie, to help.

Sophia examines the knife and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the ripped puppy balancing on a stake particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Thomas and Sophia pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded man. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
