"claudiaa, where are you?" a small boy ran around in search for the dark haired girl hidden between two bookcases. she snickered, quick to cover her mouth. "i can hear you!" eventually, tiny hands poked the young girls face excitedly, "found you! found you!" she laughed and stood up to run from him, "but you cant catch me!" the boy gasped, "you can't change the game!" she ignored him, running in circles around the small apartment. - kindergarten
"you go in first." claudia pushed the little boy closer to the classroom door. "no! there's too many people!" the girl sighed and opened the door, waving at her mother as she entered the classroom, "you're so lame, saylor." his shocked expression made the situation even funnier, "i am not lame!" saylor followed his best friend into the large room. - third grade
claudia laughed victoriously, "i win- again." she donned a smug smile as she walked back to where saylor was. saylor rolled his eyes, "i totally let you win that one," he held a bright green soccer ball in the crevice of his arm, "besides, im more of a basketball person." he feigned a yawn, walking back to the rest of the class. "fine. next recess we'll play basketball." claudia grinned, knowing well she would win that time as well. - fifth grade
saylor frowned, "how long are you planning on staying there?" claudia rushed to the bathroom minutes before, and she had yet to return. annoyed, she answered him, "i'll be right out." the blonde sighed obnoxiously, pacing impatiently. finally, claudia returned from the restroom, "im back," she took her backpack from the silent boy, "is there an issue?" saylor cleared his throat and pointed at claudia's jeans, "are you dying?" claudia paused, "oh." - sixth grade
"im sure someone will ask you!" saylor's dimpled smile grew, "or maybe i could take you?" claudia stood there, deep in thought. she wasn't opposed to the idea- and going to the dance with her best friend sounded like the most exciting option, "i dont see why not!" - eighth grade
claudia stepped forward, revealing her older sister's dress. it had blue feathers drawn on the back in contrast to the predominant cream color of the apparel. saylor felt his blood run cold. she looked so intimidating... or maybe it's because of the frown on claudia's face that he felt scared. "she wouldn't let me borrow her eyeliner." she huffed. saylor laughed, opening claudia's front door, "imagine." the taller girl pushed him playfully, "shut up." - eighth grade
"shut up, saylor. stop lying." claudia grabbed her binder, slamming her locker. saylor jumped at the sudden noise, "claud- no, claudia. im telling the truth." he chased after a speeding claudia. she didn't slow down for him, but instead continued down the empty hallways of her highschool. saylor rushed after her, breathing heavily, "slow- slow down," he stopped to take a breath. claudia stood by the large double doors, fighting to hold in her tears. he couldn't leave. not now. "im sorry, claudia. dad got a new job and-" she turned towards saylor, silencing him, "i get it." she made her way towards the breathless boy, hugging him tightly, "you better not forget me, moon." saylor groaned, "i thought we agreed you'd stop with the sailor moon refrences... and shut up, you know i'd never forget you." claudia's face lit up as she grabbed his hand, "we have to spend as much time together before you go." saylor nodded in agreement, "i agree wholeheartedly." - ninth grade
