Assignment: You will describe your dream house using imagery and figurative language.
House the colour of the night sky, standing like a giant amongst the sea of flowers. A garden, full to the brim with a rainbow collage of vegetables. A small ocean in the backyard, with plenty of room for their little menagerie. A library like the one in the movies, with the rolling ladder and the hundreds and thousands of books. A kitchen where ice cream and cookies could make even the worst days into something good.
Big TVs for family movie night, with candy and popcorn and smiles. Board games and video games, joy, and competition, because what's family without some competition? 4 rooms, 4 offices, space for their whole little family. Flags of all colours, blue, purple, pink, white, black, orange, boasting that we can be exactly who we are and we will never change that. A collage of colours, blue for the girl who brought them together, tan for the boy who could always be counted on, purple for the girl who got her way out, and green for the one who finally escaped.
No yelling, no fighting, just them. No one judging, no one criticizing, unwavering support. Away from their pasts, to their happy future. I want this house, this house I see in my dreams. Though it may just be a figment of my imagination right now, one day it will be real. With its many rooms, its library and kitchen, with laughs and tears, but with them together, them as the family they all deserved.
