University Royalties #1: Pearl of The Universe - Chapter 17

"Sana all nilulutuan ng lunch," Amelie, my blockmate, said while pinching my arms a bit to get my attention. I didn't know why I had a smile on my face while looking at the pink lunchbox that Lukas gave to me earlier that's in my small backpack. After having enough of seeing Austin and Isabella's wedding, we went our separate ways because we all have different faculty buildings since we have different courses as well. Si Lukas rin umalis na matapos niyang ibigay 'yung lunchbox sa'kin, I was still trying to be shy but I still got the lunchbox though.

We're in the middle of a class but for some reason, 'di ako maka-catch up. My mind was on something else.

Amelie was nagging like a mom. Hininaan pa niya ang boses niya, because our professor was teaching in front. I just laughed.

Mas matino pa 'yon," Isaiah butted in. He's my friend, and he was seating on the chair in front of us.

"Plus, Lukas surely won't cheat on you or anything. Ang yaman pa, I think you found yourself a sugar daddy," I raised a brow when another blockmate of mine, Aaron, spoke.

"This is my life kaya. What do you all care ba?" I said because of annoyance.

"Sungit nito," reklamo pa ni Isaiah.

"Boys at the back!" I sighed when our professor noticed our noise.

Kaya laging nasa dulo kapag ranking. If you want to talk, just replace me instead. Kayo ang magturo," she chuckled after saying that. What our professor said next triggered my wounds from the past. Why does our grades matter? Anong connect ng pag-iingay sa grado namin? I mean, I know that my blockmates are all doing their best. They don't cheat too just to bring themselves up high.

"You're here to educate us, not to judge us. I know we're at fault because we were making noise in your class. But you're a professor, don't just look at things on how they appear to be. I heard gasps from the people at the room. But I couldn't care less. I couldn't help but talk about our professor's rudeness. She even called them bobo. That's unacceptable.

"Napaka-bastos mo, Ms. Mateo. You're one of the most intelligent people in this class, bakit ka tinatamaan gayong hindi naman ikaw ang pinapatamaan ko?" Elders are so entitled. Kapag itinama mo, sasabihan ka pang walang modo. It sucks.

"Just because you're not referring to me, I'm going to turn a blind eye already. Their efforts should also be appreciated. These boys you're talking about are also trying, you know?" I knew that my voice sounded so mataray, but I didn't bother saying sorry. I just corrected her. She should somehow consider my words manlang. Atleast I didn't cuss at her just like she did, right? May respeto pa nga ako ng lagay na 'yon.
