An idle mind is Damien's workshop
I walked to school today and I sat down in class. Though I was late, it was worth it. Damien was sitting at the farthest corner of the class, absent minded. He wore a black hoodie pulled forward over his face and was looking downcast.
I dodged him for the rest of the day, reading in the school's library and volunteering to join the school's PE club.
I came back around 5pm and mum cornered me
"Why aren't you returning with Damien?" She said.
"I...I...didn't want to" I said
"Were you aware that Damien came here looking for you?" She said
" No...but I know he would" I said
" I wish you knew what you were doing" she said.
" I do" I said.
A knock on the door made us jolt.
" I'll get it" mum said
She went to the door, saw who it was and asked the person to come in. She left me and went to the room
I looked up and saw that it was Damien in his black hoodie.
" Um...may I talk to you for a sec?" He said
" Yeah...sure" I said
He sat down on a bar stool and faced me
" Krishen, for the last time, what did I do to you"
My heart kept doing flip flops like a person who was trying hard to catch a fish with bare hands.
"Nothing" I said
"So you just decided to avoid me?" He said
I didn't answer
"Ok...I'm leaving" he said and stood up. He began to walk away slowly and left my house.
