Ding! I hear the familiar noise as I enter. It doesnt smell like smokey mist it smells fresh and looks empty. Ever feel that skip of a heartbeat like a mini heart attack? That's what i'm getting right now.
Nobody greets me. Nobody says anything like 'hello can i help you with my little chimes shop?' And looks up and says 'Elyse!'
Instead I see people moving things around. "What's happening?" I ask the nearest person. A man in a construction unit uniform looks at me.
"Are you a family member of the man who owned this place?" His eyes meet mine. Owned? He sold this place?!
"No I'm here to visit him. Why?" I ask.
"Oh you haven't heard I see." He sits me down near the fireplace. "The man who used to own this building, for he uh... Passed away."
My heart drops.
